just picked this up for the PS3.. yeh, its bloody good. the training level is over sooner than you think, and the first level just makes you go "wow"...to the point where you start thinking "im just not a real soldier, how could they put me in a situation like this, im going to blow it for everyone".. lol, stupid i know, but its that intense. ..yet really easy after you have completed it.

online is on par imo with RFOM, silky smooth or what!!

yeh, its a good game... damn good game.

theres a few of us with it on the ps3 here.. i see that Matticus has it too... so theres a few of us. its moments like these you just want certain bods from the big companies to stand up and say "hell.. i love you man, lets all play together ..PS3, 360, PC.. lets have a hug."

never mind.. maybe one day.

That's the thing, I know people with COD for both machines and a don't want it to look like I'm saying FU to one or the other.

COD should have it's own independant servers that both PS3 and 360 access and forget Sony and Microsoft.

i dont know why, but i keep calling this game 'Cod of War'..

yeh, i agree Gabe, there is no reason that they couldnt do that. well, not one i can think of anyway. there is so hardly any difference between the two versions that i just cant see why they cant do it apart from legal and arse reasons.

just got to lev four, now i can choose class.. whoa! lol.. im a freakin killing machine!

im not really, just wanted to say that.

to those who dont have this, its real hard not to explode with excitement over the gameplay and graphics. luckily WH and R6.. theres still room in the war Genre for those two, but im SOOO glad i traded in GRAW.

i would of felt cheated and would never ever of played that again if i had kept it after playing this. online is tight, just everything... so well done.

single player is cool, kinda reminds me of BLACK so far, though only done a tiny bit of the 2nd mission, online is far too much fun!

i came 3rd just now in a TDM, everyone died about 6 times, apart from me.. i died 17 times, lol.. but thank god it doesnt seem to take points away for stupidity!

Hannible, you're statistically owning me on the leader boards.

lol

I'm terrible, but I haven't had this much fun with a game in a long time.

According to Major Nelson CoD4 is already the fourth most popular title in terms of Live activity (which counts people playing while connected, not just people playing online), behind only the juggernauts of Halo 3, Gears of War and Guitar Hero III. It will be interesting to see how well it performs in the long term but if the multiplayer is as solid as everybody says there's no reason why it couldn't stay popular and maybe even go up a place. Probably not above Gears because that was pretty much the constant number one until Halo 3 finally usurped it, but then when UT3 hits it will be interesting to see how that shakes things up. 360 owners sure do like their online shooters...

im not surprised.

to be honest this is right up there in my top all time favourite FPS's of all time. i know its early days, but this weekend i have played and played my little socks off.
single player is relentless, just full on bloody norah bang bang kill kill.. and breathe.. now kill more.
good story line, great gameplay.. AI of your team imo is some of the best ive seen, they really cover your arse. the diversity of the missions too... its like a little of Red Faction 2 (the good bit), Black and Killzone and COD and.. oh everything thrown in the pot and something damn good came out.

as for online, its just out there in terms of everything. just the sense you that really are out in the field with your squad, the TDM's are fantastic as well as being able to pick your own class of weapons after reaching a certain rank level.
its almost like an FPS RPG.. for every kill you get its a notch, get enough and you progress to the next level which might give you more weps, gadgets or game modes.. its just fantatsic.

who ever reviews this here, i would like them to spend time online as well as single player.
..But pick a time the server isnt down (Activision need to sort the servers out, they have been down a couple of times, both for the PS3 and 360), and just play some DM's, TDM's and just see the magic, the smoothness and the fun with full-on, hell on earth battle zones with 18 players. I havent seen anything this mad since battlefield2 online, its just whoa! lol, sometimes you need to gather your thoughts before running across a street, i like that

On top of all of this you have amazing graphics, if it had worse graphics i would still be raving on about it. But it hasnt, its got gorgeous graphics, just such an accomplishment in terms of gaming.

if Killzone2 is this good, i'll be a very very happy gamer.

not much of an FPS fan myself, but from reading all the reviews, I thought i'd give it a rent via gamefly for the PS3. After having spent some time with it during the weekend though, its a pretty damn fine game - something which most of you have already found out for yourselves.

I'm about halfway through the single player portion, but I haven't tried out multi-player quite yet ... and given the general suckage inherent in my FPS-playing abilities, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. But, I'll probably get to it sometime soon.
