1. FF isn't dead! It just gets better with time.

2. XBox 360 only has Halo 3. Or atleast out of the games i'm interested in; that's all it has. PS3 has currently 0 games i'm interested in. But then again it took Microsoft 2 years to release Halo 3.

3. If it wasn't for Halo 3 imo 360 is useless. While the PS3 i can use as a Media Center, play Hi-Def Movies, and most importantly BLUETOOTH. Goddamn even the $250 Nintendo Wii has bluetooth.

5. Technology, Features, & Innovations: PS3: LINUX, Blu-Ray, Bluetooth, USB, Memory Card Reader, EMULATION, SIXAXIS, etc.... WII: Bluetooth, Memory Card Reader, EMULATION, Wii Controller, etc.... 360: Media Center, ummmm... Halo 3, i think that's pretty much it.

4. I still think the Nintendo Wii is the best buy for the buck. I wouldn't pay no more then $400 for the PS3. And i wouldn't pay no more then $300 for the 360.

Despite the title of your topic, Ricky, you clearly are stepping on people's toes...mine, to be more specific.

None of what you say - outside of the XN comments, which I will address shortly - has any validity whatsoever. We are one of the harshest-scoring sites on the 'Net when it comes to PS2/PSP/PS3 reviews, and you can check that out for yourself at either GameRankings or Metacritic. Our scores are frequently at or below the critic average for most titles we review. That's first.

Second, we post ALL of the most important Sony-related news. During the first few months of the PS3 launch, we had every dire and black-hearted PS3-related news story on the planet, because they were current. At this particular time, there are many analysts stepping up and saying "the PS3 will overcome," so we are reporting on that. NOBODY is singing the same tune they were singing earlier this year, which was predictions of doom and gloom for the PS3. The developers are very excited about finally getting a handle on the technology, the games are right around the corner (some are already here; i.e., Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, MotorStorm, etc.), and sales are rising.

Why is there a lot of positive Sony news on this site over the past few months? Simple. Because there has been a lot of positive Sony news out there. It was the exact opposite during the first part of the year, and if you need proof, I can point you in numerous directions, because I wrote those stories.

Now, as for XN, I'm aware of the lack of content, but there are reasons for that: as the site doesn't bring in much traffic at all, Val doesn't want us to spend too much time there. He's happy with just some news updates every day, and I also add in previews I do for PSXE that are multiplatform titles. But beyond that, Arnold and I don't time to provide full content for both PSXE and XN, and we really can't anyway, considering how much smaller XN is (traffic-wise). We've been talking about merging the two sites for potentially greater exposure overall, but that'll be up to Val. Personally, I like the idea...even if it will be more work.

But anyway, to sum up, you clearly don't know our site at all, Ricky. And you also don't seem to be keeping up on the current news. This isn't January. It's October, and the "OMG, PS3 is teh dead!" stories are long gone. We report on everything Sony-related that is current, REGARDLESS of whether it's negative or positive. I work very hard to do that on a daily basis. Period.

It's something of a catch-22 situation then; not worth making content without traffic, but won't get traffic without content. If it helps any I can throw together a review of something in my 360 collection, followed by a few more if it's deemed adequate for Nerds. All strictly gratis, of course.

First, apologies are due.

Admittedly, I was pretty drunk when I went on my semi rant last night, and never meant to insult anyone. This is all subjective; the exception being the lack of XN content.

It’s just somewhat annoying to see the same ‘Industry expert predicts PS3 to win’ headlines once a week.

I know you guys work hard, Ben. I’m very impressed with the content and features on the main PSX site. It’s constantly updated, and a great deal of attention goes into it, and it certainly shows.

What I don’t understand is why the same detail doesn’t go into XN. I mean, why even go through the trouble to develop the site if it’s not going to get the same treatment?

I do understand the issues of lacking traffic, but content and traffic go hand in hand, as Benny pointed out.

Hopefully you can understand (from my perspective anyway) how this can make the site come off as seeming biased.

And to debunk the mystery, I do have a PS3

I do understand what you're saying, and like I said, we are thinking about merging the two sites to provide top-notch coverage for both PSXE and XN. It is indeed a Catch .22 (no content, no traffic), but it's also a Catch .22 in another way- no traffic, no income. Therefore, in order for us to really make the most out of our months, we can't waste much time with XN. That's just the way it is. I do hope that, at some point, the two sites merge. But like I said, that's up to Val.

But bear in mind, about the analyst pieces, there was one "PS3 is doomed" analyst story per week earlier this year. Like I said, we simply post the most current news there is.

It's pretty clear that the forum community favours the Sony brands more than any other.
Not sure if I would deem it 'biased' though, but there is a clear lack of interest for things that are not Playstation (or maybe the opposite).

Analysts do seem to spout fairly vague theories about how things will play out, and for every one who sees Sony's demise amongst the entrails there will be another predicting their turnaround from what they read in their tea leaves. Obviously if Xbox Nerds was properly active there would be predictions on the news page to counter the Sony ones.

The closest the main site comes to fanboyism would be the Kaz Hirai comments, but that's only because it's a Sony man pointing out that their system if better than the competitor's, and Microsoft have said plenty in the opposite vein. Of course, the cynic in me would have probably said something like "the extra capacity and superior power are all well and good, but when most third party developers are starting on the 360 and converting across it renders such benefits irrelevant", but that's just me.

I still favor Nintendo:

The Nintendo DS alone has more games i want then XBox 360 and PS3 combined.

Hell i want PSXExtreme not only to expand like they did with XN but also make a Nintendo Wii site.

By forum community, I did not mean you in particular. I know there's variation, but this is a playstation-centric forum at heart.

Given that the majority of the people here starting posting when it was still a Playstation-centric site, I'm not sure why you'd find that surprising.
