I played this in demo form last night... on rerading what people were saying about the demo, i wasnt hoping for much as they didnt make it sound very good at all.

but i was wrong, so very very wrong.


graphically the game is pretty stunning in places, playability is right up there and grim-ness.. plentyfull.

many are saying that graphically it isnt as good as the 360 version, but today i saw a vid on Gametrailers showing in split screen the differences between the two consoles, and its obvious that the PS3 has a richer tone to its graphics and generally a darker more grim feel to it.

so i went and picked it up today... mainly because those lil Darklings are really funny, lol.

I need to dl the demo but DK says it's not great. He'll give you more details but the impression I get is that the controls aren't great and having to shoot lights all the time can get annoying when all you want to do is get in and kill stuff.

brought it yesterday, its superb... if its not your sort of game, its not your sort of game and all that.

but the shooting of the lights is needed for the darkness to come. i think its certainly one of those games you either love or hate.

control wise its pretty tight imo, not as tight as say Rainbow 6 or Resistance in places, but blows FEAR out of the water.

you should dl the demo and see what you think, big demo though...

but the full game has lead me on a great story so far, i just hope it stays like that.

For the record, you really only need to shoot the lights a lot if you summon Darklings a lot. Later on, you get a Darkling that destroys lights FOR you, and you have to remember that your Darkness power automatically replenishes whenever you're in shadow. I never worried too much about shooting lights out.

And the control is basically perfect in the final version.

is it true that you cant be shot when youre in darkness mode? or did i imagine that?

You can be shot, but you'll only lose Darkness energy, not health. When all your Darkness energy is depleted, you'll start to lose health.

So in other words, if you have the Darkness summoned, no, you can't lose life energy.

i love the whole tv thing going on! i watched a whole popeye cartoon on one telly, i wonder what the other tellys show.
so far tho, as a story driven fps goes, its right up the with the halflifes and red factions for me.

I mean who gives a crap. It's the same game and they essentially look the same.

PS: This game owns, but I think it's not worth full price. Buy it when it's cheaper.

i agree, its stupid to think that something so minor would actually be the deciding factor to which console you buy it on ..or to buy it at all.

the game is good, full stop.

theres rumors flying about that a multiplayer patch for the ps3 and 360 will soon be out. i havent played online yet, but i hear it lags..
