oh I know that, I was just redescribing what DK was talking about. For my limited knowledge I understand caching to be done only while the current game is being played then it's ditched once you load something else and it's not required anymore.

Yes, because memory and storage capacity are something completely irrelevant for a professional computer engineer. I don't deal with that ever, and I'm obviously talking out of my ass. Obviously the years of training and experience have no bearing at all compared to owning a ps3. Only then will I know what I'm talking about.

Let's not forget that your futile argument may be put at the reverse for yourself - could it be that you are such a flamboyant Blu-Ray preacher solely because you own a ps3?

In retrospect, if you had actually read my posts in this thread, I did disprove the fact that Blu-Ray was necessary (because it's a bold word), and the quote that you used for this was completely out of context, as it never stated that Blu-Ray was necessary.

HOWEVER, I did not say that the other consoles' solutions were better, and I did state that they were lacking in critical areas. Just because I don't think is necessary addition for the time being doesn't imply that I think it helps the games at all, and that I'm a ps3 hater and that I will never own one because Sony killed my dog. Obviously, it's better, and I've always stated that it's a nice addition, but I still think that the standard will be viable for most games in the normal console cycle (which the PS3 obviously will not follow).

To put it bluntly, you are a moron and I'm closing this thread.

There is no need for closing this thread sunburn. Though this is an argument, what would a forum be with out one. Go on an argue your points guys!

Sunburn, i didn't read the whole thread only a couple of posts, so if there was a reason why you closed it pm me and we can check it through again.

all im tryin to say is that some games on ps3 store data on the HDD aswell as the usual game save(something you didn't seem to know about not havin a ps3)and if this becomes a regular thing that devs do then i think the 360 with 20Gb could be in trouble in the future.

I dont get it... whats the problem with just making the game on more than one dvd if there is not enough space? They did that with final fantasy. If oblivian fit on 360 i dont see why any game would'nt. Oblivian is a very big game.

How does that imply that Blue-Ray is necessary? That means that the hard-drive is necessary (and that, I do agree with).

Oh well, ignore what I just said anyways. I do not own a ps3 afterall, so what do I know?

Blu-Ray is still not necessary for gaming, it's a plus but not needed. HDD on the other hand is necessary imo.

"Blu-Ray is Necessary" is just a thread title designed to wind you up sunburn when you got me in a bad mood about somthing else that I can't remember now, for which Im sorry.

You're right, at the mo its not necessary but in my opinion I think it will be, that or cut scenes won't be in HD or somthing, I just think that there will have to be some sort of sacrifice in the future for games on DVD because a developers scope will be too big
