Anyone thinking of picking this up for the PS3 this week?

For those that have it on PC & X360 is it really good?

I have the 360 demo and I think it's great. It's funny and annoying that the AI appears to be quite good.

VERY nearly bought it this lunch time... SOOO tempted.

My local choices dont rent out PS3 games at the minute!! So stupid!
Well they do, but only RFOM, VF5 and RR7.
They said their doing a trial renting period to see how many customers they get.

What idiots. If they manage to rent other console games, what makes them think they won't make much money doing it with the PS3.

Most people probably own 2 out of those 3 anyway so they need to widen their offerings to games people might not have bought.

I decided not to in the end, i got Virtua Tennis 3 for £30 off ebay.
Plus with playing GoW II - I cant see me having any time for FEAR.

and its like an FPS set in Silent hill at the mo, lol... im sure SH had a LOT to do with the making of this game.

there are issues with this game, i will not lie to you lot and say its amazing when its not. but it is bloody good!

the neg points first off... anyone remember that FPS of Judge Dread? remember how it was cool, but seemed a lil shakey at times? well FEAR is a lil like that every now and again. sometimes it feels as if your skating on ice rather than walking..
graphics are not as strong as Resistance, so if you ever hear that they are, its not true... BUT (and here are the good points) the graphics are good! as good as the 360? apparently not, but in my eyes they are very good indeed.. certainly NOT a PS2 graphical game, better.
And even tho i say that at times you do feel a lil shakey or skatey.. 97.5% time its very solid.

the detail in this game reminds me of Deus Ex... just seems like a lot of thought has gone in to this, and with many options to mess around with and things to see and do in the game, it is mostly a tight shooter with detail. ...plus you can see your feet (lol).

the story line is very very good so far. at the moment im about 30 mins in.. ive done the rekky bit where they lead you in then freak you out a bit, now im in to the shooting a lot of bad guys bit. the action is somewhere between a lil like a hectic Redfaction with a freaky story like in Silent Hill.

and yes, ive jumped on a few occasions. i wouldnt say it really scary, but its gory and it does make you jump..

as for online, that wasnt a great experience, but then coming from resistance, i judge every game on that now.

so far i really like it, but will i trade it in for GOW2 or Spidey..Hmmm, dont know, but i will certainly keep on playing it. until i get bored.

I'd have expected it to be atleast as good as the 360 version Dillon. Sony need to get a demo of this on the PS store. Then again,they need to do that with all the currently released games!

agreed... its a very good shooter. thing is tho, Resistance is SO good.. its easy to get snobish and say that nothing is good out there, when thats not true. FEAR is good, its very good.. we just need demos out on the store so people can see how good it is.

a lot of people are saying its a lazy port, but in my opinion every port is lazy, lol... i would like every game to be built from the ground up on the PS3, shame its just not possible.
