Default Game Ratings

Hey guys, new topic relating to coursework! Believe me it's less fun than it sounds (and that is saying a lot), but I'd really appreciate if you could help me out, even if all you do is vote in the poll.

Right so here's something I'd like to get some answers from (especially from my fellow Britons)...

Do you believe the current age rating system is appropriate for children aged between 10-15? If you don't, then why?

EDIT:: Heres some links for more information about the current British age rating system, as well as some comparison to the ESRB ratings you Americans have:

http://www.elspa.com/docs/aag_leaflet_artwork.pdf

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PEGI

Camparison:

Ratchet: Deadlocked is classified 3+ by PEGI (because the weapons are unrealistic and the enemies are either robots or fantasy creatures), but rated T by ESRB, Jak X has a 12+ rating for PEGI, but the reasons for the T rating are essentially the same.
For racing games, such as Need For Speed: Most Wanted, there is a classification 3+ by PEGI, but it has been issued a T rating by the ESRB.
For the FPS XIII PEGI rated the game 12+ (possibly because the graphic style was not unlike of a cartoon and for the option of turning off the blood in the game), but the ERSB rated the game M.
