Ive done a quick search but couldnt find anything on this.
I know you need a memory card adaptor to put your PS2 games saves onto your PS3. But what if your playing a new PS2 game (say GoW II) can I just save directly onto the PS3 hard drive? Cheers

i believe that you just save it to HDD, and when you get the PS2 mem card adapter (when sony releases it here).. you save your cards to your HDD there, instead of running the saved game off the adapter.
i dont really know?! is the adapter out in the states yet? i wonder if the memory MAX from AR works in order to transfer your files?

Yes,you can save it directly to the PS3 HDD,no card or adpator needed. .It creates a virtual PS2 memory card on your PS3 that holds all new saves for any PS2 games you play on the PS3.
The adaptor which you know about already is used to transfer old ps2 saves to the PS3. |

You have to create a virtual memory card in the PS3. And that's it.

Yeah, Arnold's right. It's also nice being able to switch slots during games, instead of having to insert and remove every memory card.
If you want to transfer the datasaves to another PS3, just use a USB flash drive. I like it how I can transfer them to my PC also, for I can double back them up. I hope websites go up where people share their .psv files (since I'd be interested in downloading a few saves).

Yeah I believe you can just save things directly to the drive on the PS3 but to put old saves that were on the PS2 card you need the adaptor.

do you think the Action Replay Max USB drive would work in transfering PS2 mem card saves?
i believe the PS3 boots the ARMAX disk, but not properly.. screen goes black, and stays that way. so im wondering if you at least save the ps2 mem saves on the old PS2, if the PS3 would recognise it?

I need that adaptor! I refuse to start FFXII from scratch until I've played through it at least once.
I'm not happy I can't use my AR equipment on their though ![]()
