fantastic!

i for one am just counting the mins..hours and days till we see this!!

i wonder if they will make it more cartoon or real like? they have the power in the next gen consoles to deliver, i just wonder what they will go for.

i actually hope they dont push things too far. yes i want to see amazing visuals etc... but if they make it 'too' good, then they will just have the same, if not more problems than what San Andreas or VCS (psp) had when they pushed it on the consoles.

cant we be happy with what we have (ok.. a lil bit better) and keep the glitches down to an amusing few, rather than a ridculous amount of faults that you have to be a die hard fan to ignore.

so by keeping the amazment factor down in the looks dept, they can concentrate on content, and i think we all agree that content and something new is what is needed in GTA.

if R* dish out another SA... yes we will buy it, but i think people are starting to tire big time of GTA, they need something new,

I feel that the PSP version of VCS was amazing, but amazing because it was on the psp.. lets hope they give us something equally as good on the PS3.

If there's one thing people aren't tired of, it's GTA. Everyone will buy this, almost regardless of how good OR bad it is. It's kinda like Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid in that way.

Personally, I just want another SA with a few more enhancements and advancements, and I'll be plenty happy.

i totaly agree on the everyone will buy it front, and i dont think people are getting trired of GTA, but I feel from looking through sites and what people are saying is that they need something new.

im one of the biggest GTA fanboys out there, lol.. i LOVE GTA, all im concerned about is that they try and push the system far too far and sometime it can get a bit over ambitious at times. (mind you.. pushing the PS3 to its limits, may take a while )

i did love SA, it was a great game, but I loved Vice City more at the first time of playing SA.

recently ive been back to SA and ive got to say that i do 'now' feel that is its superior to VC.

but why didnt i think that at the time? a lot of people feel the same way as me... GTAIII was the greatest leap in gaming imo, was incredible..

I want that to happen again, new GTA, new console!! i just dont want them to mess it up, i want content over looks and brass.

i dont think im going to be dissapointed though, I really do have much faith in R*, i just love GTA so much that i would rather it leaped a lil in the right direction than a lot in the wrong.

I know that I am in the minority here, but I could never get into a GTA game until SA (although I've played them all). I know that it didn't improve upon the formula that much, but I definitely thought that it was the most interesting out of all last gen GTAs... The sims/rpg-like elements, the exploration involved in the game, these are the things that made me stick to the game, as opposed to abadonning it 1/3rd of the way through like the others...

Even then, I'm kinda hoping that the changes won't be incremental for GTA4... I hope it's not GTA3 HD.

lol, thats weird.. because most would say thats the bit they hated about SA.. the body building, the eating.. haircuts etc..

personally, I liked it. i think it can be tweaked, for sure.. but i like that direction too.

i also like the direction that VCS on the psp took when you took a business over. that it would go under construction.

how about if and when you blew the sweet jaysus out of a building, that three days later theres people rebuilding it.. and two week after that its ready for you to blow up again)

I played GTA 1 a ton back in the day. So I naturally followed the series as much as I could... and I really liked it. But to be honest I wasn't a fan of SA.. I played it for a while, but meh. I never bought it though.
I think I'd pick up IV regardless though

I thought it was all pretty annoying. SA was still my favorite entry in the series just because of all the little things they added (sky diving, riding bikes, climbing walls, finally being able to ****ing swim, ect), the story, voice acting, and sheer size of the world they created. SA was HUGE, I still don't totally know my way around big chunks of it (whereas I think I still have most of Liberty City and Vice City memorized). I can't even imagine what they're going to do with a next gen game.

Actually, SA was a HUGE jump in the series. It took RPG elements and fused them with the old tried-and-true formula. Never before were your skills and ability dictated by your actions. You'd have to shoot more to be more accurate (and each weapon had its own separate rating, so you had to practice with all of them), drive more to have better control (and cars and motorcycles had different ratings), fly more to have better control, run more to have more stamina, lift more to have more strength, etc. Hence, there's one massive difference between SA and any other GTA: the player had to maintain your character, as one would in real life.

That may be why you found it "more interesting;" it was just that much deeper. If we see another leap like this in GTA IV, it would be considered a drastic upgrade.

I'd also like to add that atmosphere is a big deal in GTA. If you're not into the backdrop and environment, you won't like it as much. That's why Vice City was easily my favorite GTA, considering I'm a huge '80s fan. At the same time, I have to recognize that SA was certainly the best, but not my favorite.
