Lol, I saw that earlier today. It's very true since the number of people who had their 360 break on them is pretty high. My 360 died over 2 months ago with the three red lights of death.

I think when you suddenly get the lights you are stuffed and it stops straight away. I should imagine that this could happen out of the blue rather than a final event in a series of issues.

I have this problem.
One day, I was playing Madden and my screen froze. I figure whatever, it overheated, I'll live. The next time I tried to turn it on, I got the three red lights. Not good. I checked for all my connections and nothing worked. I called X-box support, and after getting crapped on by outsourcing, I got someone who could speak English to tell me that Microsoft no longer offered free repairs for launch consoles after January 5th of 2007. Mine broke in early February. I can overheat the console to make it work again, but that's just a temporary method that will kill my 360 if I do it it too much. Besides, it only lasts around 20 to 30 minutes before it freezes again. I could send it in to Microsoft for repair, but that's $140 that I just don't have. I could try to fix it myself, but the chances that I'll just waste the rest of my 360 is pretty good. What sucks is having $550 worth of games, accessories, and a monitor in your room just collecting dust. |

shite.. thats bad!
so you forwarded to India to the M$ support centre? where is the suppot centre based? I have no problem where these places are, what pisses me off is tha none of these guys are actual engineers, they just trouble shoot. and i would say that 90% here can trouble shoot just fine, what you need is an engineer that knows the real in's and out's of your console in order to think of somethig you havent. i cant imagine Sony is any better, but I havent ever used their support line.. do they even have one? still.. if someone makes a console, it really shouldnt matter how many days, months or years it is after purchase, if theres a fault with the machine ..then they should repair free of charge ASAP.
