Purchased a wii for my kids and got a PS3 for me.

I got tired of giving explanations about how the wii was not broken but only 480 capable since every time my kids switched from High Definition programming to a wii game it was Daddy, daddy fix the highdef TV! from my kids and hearing this on a daily basis got old real fast.

I got tired of that Ninten-dont unit and being lied to:
The hype: its a next gen unit.
The truth: nope, since there are no next gen cpu or graphics chips or anything next gen inside the unit.

The only next gen thing was a PERIPHERAL and I am still ticked off! over being scammed into buying a slimline Game Cube for 250 dollars.
So the wii gets the hate.

So today its a 360 for my kids and the PS3 for me.
The PS3 and the 360 get the love.

Its all about the games and the media capabilities and since the PS3 and the 360 have it.

The love goes to these two and also notice plenty of games for these two units.

I'm sorry, but nintendo never ever hyped it as being as powerful as the competitors and being next-gen in that sense. So how were you being lied to?

PS: wii sports is so a next-gen game, it's not even funny. it may not be aimed at the hardcore gamer, and Nintendo should definitely do more of such games, but it's probably the game I've played on the three consoles that is the biggest step forward of core game mechanics.

All major consoles have value. It's always been the case, and it always will.

Talking about a console=/=games.

As I was saying its being marketed as a next gen console when NOTHING inside that console box is next gen.

That box is NOT next generation hardware anything inside it.

So calling it a next gen console is lying when all that it is is a last gen box in a slim case.

Its a single screen home version of the DS replacing a finger for a remote.

And as far as value:
A wii=120 dollars is actual value.

A wii=250 dollars is a ripoff when the actual reworked Game Cube console is worth less than 80 dollars.

Hold your horses, bitter-boy. Where in that hype article, does Nintendo state that they are a next-gen console? This is a media outlet bringing facts down the table (not hype, because it is selling like hotcakes), and claiming it's next-gen because it's a new console, not Nintendo.

I don't ever recall Nintendo associating the Wii with next-gen. They've always said that they were a 'new-gen' or some crappy marketing term like that, because they know that the Wii itself isn't next-gen, and doesn't compare against the other two consoles in terms of raw power. So how are you being lied to by Nintendo?

And to be honest, you almost lost me when you were talking strickly about hardware, and dismissing games right off the bat. This whole thread should be primarily about the games associated with the platforms, not about whatever CPU's in whatever plastic box you're going to power up. That's always what's matters, what defines a platform, and the only reason that people don't think it matters early on in a new console cycle is that there aren't enough games to consider. And we all know that's it's a bit to early to judge any console based on that fact (save maybe for the 360, who is finally gearing up with a pretty good library).

For mine, Wii 50% XBOX 30% PS3 20%.
Coz i'm fed up with hardcore game with extream graphic.

Just back to basic, Wii make me feel the fun I ever feel when I firstly try playing game .. That's all.

well.. lol, horses for courses really....

you say the PS3 is better, but to be honest, imo certain games just wouldnt 'feel' the same on any other console.. and of course the same could be said for ps3 and 360....


i do prefer the PS3 and use it 99% of the time, i could harp on about how incredible it is, but every console has its qualities...
