I think game ratings will become more enforced and then gradually the degree of violence allowed at each rating band will be increased; as has been the case with movies.

nop kids below 10 should not play games like gta and it should be banned for the kids to stop playing these games.IN ARMANS THEORY,PARENTS SHOULD BE BLAMED TO EVEN BY THEM THE CONSOLE OR PC.

Yeah, but it's not my cup of tea to be honest. I just don't see what the appeal to it is, although it's pretty funny after a few drinks and a couple of mates around.

best bit of GTA is the exploring.. thats what they need to sort out in GTA4..

anyway, i bet you have played many 18+ games in your time... do you feel that its affected you in anyway?

ive never had that exp, because im so flipping old that computer games started getting rated when i was well over the age of 18..

Not really, I wasn't really allowed to play games like GTA and Resident Evil till I was about 12, as my folks (even though they are pretty young) weren't sure what to make of them. But since it hasn't affected me and they trust my judgement with the games, they pretty much let me decide what my 11 year old brother can and can't play and from personal opinion there's not a lot I'd stop him from playing. I think the swearing and violence in games like GTA would be a bit OTT, and I wouldn't let him play Gears Of War or Res Evil at night by himself, but thats about it.

thats cool, you seem to of grabbed the essence of what is right and wrong when it comes to these things imo.

i feel that in this day and age we are far too 'pc' and afraid about f**king up our childs head with sex and violence, yet we forget that when we were kids and our fathers before us were kids there was no censorship as we have it tday.

yet we have more messed up kids, more violence and more drug dependent childeren with no morals or self discipline than we have ever had.


i do blame censorship in some ways, I blame the cotton wool we wrap our society up in and then freak when something crap happens.

see goten folks did not let him play till he was 12-13..u know y????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????? IDONT KNOW WHY! BUT IT WAS BECAUSE THEY KNEW TILL WAT AGE HE WAS MATURE..and uk ratings suck's there should be no ratingonly certain games should only be bought with the parents..see when i got vice city for my cpu.i showed how cool the game was and he bought it.no hesitation because he knows i am mature

Well it wasn't so much a mature thing as it was a case of had I heard it or seen it. The amount of violence in a Resident Evil game could probably be found in a 12 movie if you looked hard enough, and by that age I'd probably heard worse words in school than they use on GTA, and the same applies with films as well. I think it just got to the point where they thought there was no point in stopping me playing this type of game because chances were that if they did, one of my friends was bound to have said game aand I could play it at their house. Bare in mind as well that this was all around the time GTA3 was coming out and they never stopped me playing that with a few mates, but I never actually wanted it so I don't know what their response would have been if I asked for it. The only game I can remember them asking about, when I wanted to lend it from my uncle, was Devil May Cry when I was about 13. They let me play it no hassle once they'd talked to him about it
