how do you get to play GTA then @PS3?

did you buy it or your parents? and have you played any other adult games like Manhunt or Getaway? God of War? etc....

because its interesting, both you and Coty are under 14, yet I assume you have both played these games..

but is it right?

Dillon's doing the asking for me

Thanks again for all your replies. I personally think there should be stronger enforcement in terms of children buying games themselves, much stronger infact, but more information and guides should be available for parents so they can decide whether there child should be allowed certain games or not.

Anyway, enough the ratings aspect, what do you all think about the effect of these violent games on children?

exactly.. @PS3, you buy the GTA games.. am i right? so whos fault is it that you are allowed to buy this game?
i mean is it your parents? or the shop keeper hat sells it to you? you cant buy online as you are only 12/13... surely you dont own a credit card?

my point is that you woudnt be able to go and buy an adult movie in a shop at 13, and your mum and dad (i gather) most certainly wouldnt buy you said film, so IS it ok for you to have GTA? I realise that GTA isnt like a skin flick, but its an adult rating... I could of just said Cannibal Holocaust (which is one SICK film..if anyone here has seen it, but i doubt they have).

dont get me wrong, its not that I care, lol... im just playing devils A..

I've seen scenes from Cannibal Holocaust. Looks truly gruesome. In a good way.

I think videogames are a stress release device. The only people who play them and then try to emulate are the sort who at the age of 10 would have put the kitty in the microwave because they think it'd be funny to see it go up in flames. Sure very young kids (who emulate Power Rangers and other kids shows) may run round copying it if they saw some of our more violent games but they wouldn't take a REAL gun and shoot someone, just to copy what was in the game.

I sort of heard something on the news last night as I was passing the TV that some kid blamed Manhunt for his actions. (Dont know if he was from UK or if he actually killed someone if someone else heard this maybe they could explain more)

It annoys me when people blame video games for someones actions.
If you look at how many people actually play video games it will no doubt be a tiny minority of gamers who have done bad stuff and you can guarantee they would commit a crime whether or not they had just played GTA or Manhunt. There obviously not right in the head from the beginning.

This is coming from somone whos parents let him watch horror films from as young as 10, (Friday 13th, Nightmare on Elm st - that period) and while some of you might think this was too young, my parents knew at the time I knew it wasnt real and that I was sensible enough to know not to go out and do these things I saw in films.
The only thing I took a bit literal was after I watched Ghost, I pretended I could walk through doors and walls (so my sister tells me anyways)

I think violent movies affect people more than videogames as it looks real where as videogames don't. Until we are all controlling characters in VR performing the actual motions to harm people and it looks realistic, I'll maintain this viewpoint.

As I've said before, my parents have always let me watch horror movies as they knew I'd stop watching if it scared me too much.
