Finally got my PS3 all connected. Absolutly love it! You get a great game machine and the Blue Ray player. I think Sony is losing money on the machines, but should make up for it in games, and ultimalty beat out HD DVD format.
I have a Plasma with only 1 HDMI input which was OK when only the HD Cable Settop was connected. I am using a 4x1 HDMI switch with some extra Toslink outputs. This allows me to have plenty of HDMI expansion as well as getting more Toslink to my Yamaha Surround syste which is few years old, but still rocks. Happy gaming... Yeah, it costs $840 to manufacture. So for them to make profit, the average PS3 user has to buy, like, what... 6 or 7 games? It seems about right. Nintendo will actually be making a good profit on their systems, because theirs only costs something like $150. I heard that the 360 was more expensive to sell than buy, too, but I googled it and I've seen reports from as low as $323 per unit to as high as $750 per unit to manufacture. |
