I know this game is old but I've only just got it. (I got the anthology pack but have only tried DoW and Winter Assault).
The game is fun and anyone with an interest in the GW hobby will get a kick out of it. If you have a passing interest in RTS games then it is close enough to what you are used to, to keep your attention. I have played through the training mission with the Imperial Guard and a few of the Space Marine missions and have found the strengths and weaknesses to be close to the source material but unfortunately the squad building is to detracted from how the hobby is intended to play. I can forgive the lack of turn based gameplay as this helps keep things moving, similarly with the lack of mission time periods but what I do not like the fact that squads can be produced and increased almost indefinitely. This takes away much of the strategy from the hobby whereby you would normally pick an army up to a specific value and then play them to the best of your abilities. The videogame is much more forgiving of bad descision making and it is possible given enough time and resources to overwhelm your opponent with a huge army of Space Marines which isn't a good representation of what they should be. Overall I do really like the game despite these faults. I've played the hobby, I've read the books and so the game interests me enough. RTS fans who have no idea what GW is should still be able to really get into it as the army you control and the opposition are of completely different styles and you should taylor your gaming style accordingly. Not much else to say really except I hate playing games on my PC but I really enjoy playing this, when I can get time away from the kittens that is..
