but not only was Ford Racing shite, it was made/ published by Take-Two... im fairly sure its not a R* game.

GTA was nearly canned via the whole Gremlin bust up, I will always like R* and Take-two for what they did for GTA. none of us would be lovin or hating it, if it wasnt for those two.

Whats Gremlin got to do with GTA, it was DMA Design wasn'it? (with Psynogsis publishing their stuff) and they are now R* North which is owned by Take Two Interactive (and Sony owns Psynogsis now Sony Studio Liverpool)

I don't know if your interested but Gremlin were from sheffield where I live, not sure I should be proud of that.

I believe (dont quote me on this..) but Gremlin where the publishers, and were going to be the ones releasing it. then Gremlin went down, and sold off the rights. or at least the rights were taken on as part of the sale.

im not really sure on that.. but friend of mine used to work for Gremlin at that time, and can kinda remember vaguely what happened.

but GTA like so many,(remember thrill Kill?) itwas one of those games that had been made years before it was ever released, and because of content and red tape, would never of hit the shelves if it wasnt for Gremlin and in the end Take-Two.

I remember now, Gremlin was bought by Infogrames but DMA still had a deal with BMG(later R*) for GTA, I can only think that it was less complicated for Infogrames to let DMA go to BMG.

thats right, from what i remember, Infogrmes wernt going to release GTA at all, and it was something to do with the agreement that Gremlin had already signed or sorted that allowed the GTA game not to be interfered with by Infrogrames.

its all a lil hazy, but Infrograms were a lil evil back then... now they are just a sad company that made a few games... personally, the only thing i like about them is that they made 'Driver' and that they now call themselves ATARI..

but as certain film once said.. with great something comes great something or other..(ahem, erm.. ) to call themselves ATARI 'should' mean some of the greatest games on earth wil come out of these people.. shame thats just not true

and THANK GOD they didnt get their paws on GTA!

I know what you mean, Reflections made the first Driver under GT interactive, Infogrames got hold of it and my god has it been crap ever since, heres hoping under Ubisoft they can lift the series.
