uhm, casettes were not only used by nintendo, and were the most cost-efficient technology until the mid-nineties. Please refrain from trolling.

Casettes were brilliant in their own time. I don't think you can deny that.

Ok, what does that change? They haven't been used in consoles (save for save games) in a decade. And, as I said, they were the most convenient solution before.
PS: They are actually tougher to break than optical media, and more expensive to produce. Optical media is what's actually cheap (for the better or worse).

its true Coty, the amount of TRIPPLE POSTING by @ps3 means that he will just rack up the post count, and of course.. we 'know' how important that is.. eh? and @ps3.. have you ever ever seen a tape cassette? lol, let alone used one in gaming? if the answer is no, then please refrain from talking about things in this fashion about stuff you really havent a clue about. if on the other hand you have used a tape for gaming on such consoles as the Spectrum or C64, then forgive me,. its only now last couple of years that we are using memory cards as gaming tools as well as multimedia, like the good old days. in the 90's we had tapes.. you would steal your old mans classical tapes and copy Operation Wolf over it or buy a game tape from HMV and then tape over it on said fathers collection, then return it via a pin hole in the game tape and saying that it didnt work, and actually you didnt fancy playing it anyways and can you pick another (this could go on for months). ahh memories but it isnt til now with the likes of the PSP. PS3 and Wii that you can now do the same thing as they use MMC and Pro Duo's etc... its like Gaming has come ful circle, lol i just wish we could play games like Manic Miner and save the game like Gabe said... ![]()

to us Brits a cartridge is like what you had for early Nintendo, Sega Mega drive.. and the Game Boy.
Cassettes were like the Audio ones. its a language thing is guess.. dont you guys say the same thing.. no?
