would any of you guys do this waiting in line thing if it was for a free PS3?

waiting in line like that, isnt really a Brit thing. we do go in for midnight sales etc for consoles, but nothing like you guys or the Japanese.

though, things change when there is a shortage of consoles and a very limited number of them. i think some people just change and see red mist.

i remember that story that I think was reported on Psxe when the PS2 came out. some Japanese kid was one of the first in line for his PS2, got through the mad crowd, managed to get his PS2 and out of the shop, then when he got out on to the street someone on a bike or something snatched it out of his hands! bet he wasnt a happy chappy!

You know, that might not be a bad idea. If I elliminate all the competition, and avoid the ensuing mayhem, and get away from the police chase I might even get a couple of ps3s which I will gladly sell here on PSXE for list price

Why would you want to order one from Japan? They only got 100,000 units at launch and as of the last report, they're already effectively sold out.

In calgary, they only went out last night to get them. I'm not sure about others stores at the moment.
