Default Every game after Donkey Kong is for graphics whores!

Seriously, this game combined beautifully complex game mechanics with a touching story of love, courage and heroism. Mario, a simple plumber, must rescue the princess from an evil monkey who is mysteriously called a donkey.

After this game, people, it all went to shit, it really did. Developers were cursed with this IDIOTIC lust for ever increasing graphics and tripe dialogue.

See, it's the OLD SCHOOL mentality you guys are missing. See, I'm old, and obviously senile, and I am afraid of change and incapable of accepting or appreciating it, and why?

BECAUSE CHANGE SUCKS! Any game with graphics superior to the BAR set in 1983 are UNNECESSARY! Games don't need these newfangled "textures" and "normal mapping" to be good! All that does is take away from the purity of story that developers so obviously focused on back in the early 80s, the halcyon days of pure classics that you WHORES have obviously forgotten all about, if you were EVEN BORN YOU EFFING NOOBS!

Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to go jerk off to the glory that is Space Invaders II, and no not that shitty remake from the 90s, the PURE, CLEAN, OWNAGE version that is the arcade tabletop from 1978!

I'm sure if we could go back to the mid 80's and asked the developers about the graphics in their games they'd say they were giving us the best they could. Some people just don't seem to get that.

spectrum 48k users unite

i do agree, but i also think that some progammers are from the old skool and make their games as such.. Hideo for one.

we just need more. more games that have as much depth as MGS or fun factor as Rez, and more imo of the bizarre world that is Vib Ribbon.

i really wish that Lord Lanning (if thats how you spell his name) and his Oddworld games could of lived up to his dream, but the M$ take over certainly stopped that one from happening. tho i hear that an Oddworld game is being planned for the PS3 now that he has cut loose M$.

games like Shadow of the collosus and the original concept for GTA should be the future, as long as they can follow their roots rather than the demand for visuals over content.

there is so much shite on the shelves to sort though to find real gems, it just seems that its easier for companies to make crap than anything decent..

the only thing i can say is that things are looking up, i base this on the fact that i havent seen a new 'Army Men' game planned for a long time now, and that certainly is good news!
