It wasnt hectic at all for me getting a PS2.
The store i got it from only had about 10 consoles come launch day but had like 70+ pre-orders so I got their really early expecting chaos but me and my mate were the only ones there come openeing hours  Must be because im from a small town.

how early would you guys suggest getting to Best Buy and camping out for a ps3? i was think around sometime around early afternoon, think that would be quick enough?
