still theres no reason why in a few years time the game wouldnt look like that... if you believe the hype about the guts of the PS3.

hell, look at MGS4, its nearly there already!
I'm not saying it's not possible, but that simple logic dictates the game won't look that good, and it should be obvious once you think about it.

The game has to render more than just one boxer at a time, like two boxers, a ring, ref, etc. Those pics are little more than tech demos. The real game engine won't be able to dedicate all of the PS3's power to one boxer.

ive seen that trailer for the PS3, and its clearly not PS3 playing graphics. still looks very good indeed.

im not totally sold on it, tho as a couple of you guys have said that the Fight Night series is pretty good. so I may see what its like before I pick it up.

anyone picked it up on psp yet?

im more your Tekken/VF5 gamer, so we'll see what theyre like.

How would it even work on psp? You really need both analog sticks to play it properly, unless the psp version is just an old-school boxing game button masher, in which case it wouldn't be nearly as cool.

While the graphics in Fight Night are always amazing. I play it for the amazing controls and fun factor. When they incorperated the joystick controls for this game, it brought it to a whole new level. Fight Night 2009 will look close to those IMO Give em a couple years to learn the ins and outs of the PS3 Dev kits. Some companies will just get there faster though. Which should be great for everyone

I have no idea on the controls of the psp version, I think its out in the UK already, but I dont know anyone who's brought it.

graphics looks good, and the reviews ive seen have been ok, but its just not my sort of game, so I havent looked that deep in to it.

EA are certainly getting better at these game eh!.. I remember the days when they made sh*t games with sh*t graphics,

I don't see why people in this thread thinks they're pre-rendered. Have you seen FN3 running on the 360? It looks almost this good (save for the sweat). I don't see why a CPU more capable for physics coupled with extra dev time couldn't yield those results.

Those images look creepy to me. They're not quite real enough to be real. It's like watching a wax figure come to life or something. Weird.

There's a term in animation for that. I forgot what it is. It looks realistic, but so many things are off that it ends up giving you a worse impression.

The Gatti (fighter in the first picture) model doesn't look that bad. The first two of Mosley (who I'm pretty sure is the second fighter) look downright terrifiying. The mouth is screwed up just enough to make it look odd. Although the fact that they both look good enough for me to be able to identify both fighters offhand is pretty impressive (or means that I'm a gigantic loser).
