And I will agree to disagree on the controller subject. It could go on forever.

Ok since Nintendo made the perfect pad and Sony ripped it off why does the Nintendo SNES controller look sooo similar to this... a Neo Geo controller released before the SNES ... but Nintendo is so damn innovative and creative right?
![]() And this one that's is a Turbo Grafix 16 controller which looks a mighty lot like a NES controller... ![]() Yeah that's what I thought. Since you can't agree to disagree fine. Like I said if you don't like the fact that I think the PS controller is very close to the perfect pad .... well then don't. I live in the real world and not lala land either. Just because I like the PS controller, doesn't make me a fan boy... Controllers evolve from system to system, gen to gen and the best designs/functionality usually keep evolving and are used in "other" companies designs. That's a fact like it or not. And you seem to be the one living in LALA land if you can't accept the fact that MOST of the Nintendo library is included in the virtual console for the Wii. It says it in plain english! It might not have all the 3rd party games, but Nintendo games will be in full force. Just for the record I had all the Nintendo systems up until GC, Sega master system, and Atari 2600, PSX, GB, GBC, GBA, PSP, PS2 and will have a PS3 so a fanboy I think not. Gamefan yes...

I was not raising this to point out that Nintendo was the only company innovating on every controller they've ever made (although we need to give them credit that they did the only huge innovation in controllers in the 3D generation which was 'ripped off' by everybody else). I was only pointing that Sony's controllers were essentially ripoffs of Nintendo's best ideas (only better implemented) - so why did you scoff at me for prefering the 360's controller because it's a ripoff? Why the double-standard? I really don't care if you prefer the Sony pad, and I'm fine with that, it's your opinion and I respect it, and there's really nothing to it. I don't get in arguments for things that I know I can't change one's mind on (such as political leanings, religion, and other sorts of very personal preferences). PS: You still need to get your facts straight. The turbografix16 was released in 1989, much after the NES was released. It was essentially a ripoff of Nintendo's best ideas too. And the NeoGeo CD system (which is when this controller was released) was released in the PS1 era - much after the SNES was released. The actual Neogeo controller was a massive arcade-like pad. I don't get why it's such a big deal to acknowledge that, for the most part, the modern controllers are essentially 'ripoffs' of concepts that Nintendo introduced. |

I have no problem saying that the Sony controller is also a ripoff of other companies innovation. i was upset that you implied i was a damn fanboy because i prefer the PS2 pad over the 360's. That's all buddy
I don't have the biggest hands in the world and the pad just seems a tad too bulky to me, I mean lets not kid ourselves, the PS2 and 360 pad are pretty much the exact thing besides the one analog nub being switched around. And there's nothin wrong with that, but it just goes more toward the point i was trying to make by saying the dual shock 2 at least was the best control on the market, if it wasn't would the Xbox (360) controller be soo similar?P.S. And I was being my usual high self last night when I posted that and really didn't feel like looking for the realease dates and meant to also post the original TG 16 controller comapared to the CD pad to show how companies just innovate off each other. I have absolutely no problem saying when I'm wrong, and I was wrong, on the realese dates of those systems above... ![]()

Negcon anyone... now THAT pad was different. ok, yes you could only ever use it with driving/flying games. but Namco did a damn fine job imo.
my Wipeout playing has never been the same since the Negcon ![]() so anyway, back to you two! lol, you both know about consoles and pads, thats evident. so my qustion to you guys and again its off topic.. what was the very first console recognisable pad to grace our palms? and what did it look like?

I can vaguely remember the ZX81 but not the control pad, there was also the 1 button joystick for the various Atari consoles, Man that thing was awful, trying to play Kung Fu Master with that was an absolute mare.
