Default I <3 Achievment Points

I'll admit it, I'm a whore for achievment points. Now, I don't go out and get games just so I can get points, but the lure of points has kept me playing games much longer than I normally would. Heck, I'm even going to finish getting silver medals on Project Gotham just for the points. I'm over 5700, which isn't a lot compared to the real freaks out there, but I'm amazed I've gotten into them enough to get that many.

Never have and never will see the point to achievements, especially for games I'm not really, really into. Maybe when Halo 3 comes out and I can start getting achievements in that game, it'll mean more

The achievements are what make me want an Xbox 360 now (so far, I have none, since I don't have it yet). Hopefully, I get one by the end of the year, for I can start getting points.

Yeah, achievments are pretty cool I like them. I don't play games just for achievements, but it is nice to have. I miss my Xbox 360 (Sent it in for repair). I'm missing out on Pac-Man today boooo!

Besides machines breaking down around the world. The 360 has really put the "fun" back in gaming for me. So much to do with arcade fun, achievments, great online play. I love it.

I like the achievement system. I don't like how some games have, like, 6 achievements, and 5 of them are easily done in a week, while the other 1 is impossible to do in less than months.

For us non-360ers, can someone please explain what exactly "Achievement Points" are and what they are good for? Thanks...

I don't have a 360 and know what achievements points are... they are certain goals that games (on live or all games, I'm not really sure) give you and when you "achieve" them you get the set amount of points they are worth.

Each game has a sort of series of challenges designed to keep you playing the game longer. For instance, you'll get an achievement in Perfect Dark Zero for getting 1,000 melee kills, and Madden has an achievement for simple things like rushing for a certain number of yards in a game, stuff like that.

For each achievement you get points towards your gamerscore, which is really just a bragging rights thing.

I've got a grand total of 675 or there abouts. Pretty poor really but then I do still only have my two launch games.
