Default DS Lite problems?

Turns out theres quite a few people out there with a problem with their new lil funky friend. seems that the hinge is cracking on the DS Lite.

if it was a one off, I could say that who ever was complaining about this wasnt very careful with their DS Lite, but seems theres many many people with this problem.

is it due to pressure or something else? I dont know.. but it seems that it could be a design flaw.

I can't imagine it cracking unless it was already broken, or someone's forcing it wrong.

unless everyone is forcing it? its possible...

but from what I have read on the posts that first talked about this is that its just doing it. whether that means its doing it a tiny tiny bit at a time, every time you close the cover or what I dont know. I dont have a DS lite.

but I can imagine if it is a design flaw then it could be just purely down to pressure of the hinge when its closed.

plus it might only be on a certain version of DS Lite.. like the JP ones etc... so yours (Sunny) might be fine.

but certainly worth keeping your eye on it!!

really? Hmmm, you should be able to take it back. Ninty I would of thought would replace it. its not like its just you and your big clumsy hands (lol)...

its a bit like the pixel thing I guess on the psp. if its a fault and you don’t want to live with it, im sure they will replace it free of charge.

They wouldn't replace my psp... And this could be replaced with some glue.

I'm not sure if i'll take it back. There are reports of DS Lites with a yellow-tinted bottom screen, which would be much more annoying (and that mine doesn't have). I still have 2 months to make up my mind. I'll probably try to fix it with super glue first.

they wouldnt replace your psp? seriously?

they do in the UK, i know a few that have had their psp replaced withen 3 days by sony, one guy I know phoned Sony about his psp and they didnt ask for even a serial no. of the psp, it was almost no questions asked.
3 days later Sony sent a DHL man round and they replaced the console there and then.

aannnyway! went off on a ramble there.. personally I would super glue it, lol. its not like theyre that expensive, and all it probably needs is a dab of glue.

still, I do wonder if Nintendo are going to address this, as after all it is their fault. I cant imagine they would just leave it.

It's probably a defect in the piece of plastic. I'm pretty sure they will... Especially if people return their DSL.
