Thumbs down T-Mac?!?! Give me a break!

This is technically about a game, so I'm putting it here.

How in the world did Tracy McGrady get selected for the new NBA Live cover??

I was bracing myself for Wade or LeBron, thinking it may possibly be Kobe.

McGrady never even crossed my mind...

Yes, more basketball threads! And I was wondering that myself. Maybe everyone else is afraid of the EA cover curse and refused to be on it. Or maybe they decided before the season. Either way, anything basketball related in any way, shape, or form should prominently feature LeBron James on it's cover . Unless it's like a prison league basketball simulator, in which case Kobe probably works a lot better.

Wade was on the 06 cover, they dont use the same player in back to back years.

Dont hate Tmac, dudes the shit when hes healthy, not like EA placed some bum on the cover.I wouldnt have minded Lebron on the cover, but being a Houston fan Im biased towards Tracey

No way in hell Kobe will be put on the cover, some people still have issues with him and his image. Some parents honestly might not buy the game for their kid if hes on the cover.

I wasn't hating McGrady. I think he's a fine player, too - when he's well.

But that's the point. He wasn't well this year. Seems like they would have chosen someone who just came off a great year.

Oh, and I didn't realize Wade was on the cover last year...

No ones arguing the fact that he's a good player when he's healthy but that's just it: last season he was hardly ever healthy and is thus an odd choice for the cover, especially considering the years that guys like LeBron, Dirk, or Nash had. I do agree that Kobe would be unlikely given his lingering image problems (though for pure on the court performance he's a far better choice than McGrady, even if Tracey was healthy), but I doubt that it would stop many people from buying the game. His shoes and jerseys are still selling about as well as anyone other than LeBron and Wade.

I agree with most of you. LeBron deserved the cover, but I don't think McGrady is a bad choice, just because he didn't have a superstar season. Go T-MACK!!!

I also think that the Madden curse may have had a effect with people accepting also.

Didn't seem to bother Wade much, though...
