I agree with Linkin and SunBurn. The PSP only has a few really good handheld type games for on the go quick fun (which should be the meat and bones of the games), the line up is getting better but some of the console games that are remade or ported to the PSP actually end up better than the console game. (They are the potatoes that compliment the meat, and the hell with you if you don't like potatoes!!)

There are few examples were the PSP game is better but it does happen, and some of those console games I would actually rather have on the go, maybe not the 50 hr RPG but the 5-8 hr action/platformer perfect.

But on the DS lite topic I never got a original DS to start and maybe one day in the far far future when my SP dies and the DS becomes the GBA in price range... games and system. To be honest I'll probably never own one and will buy a Wii before I'd get a DS.

The DSLite is an amazing GBA machine. It makes your games look so much better (provide that you didn't have a micro, that is).

Gamefly is worth it as long as you don't live on the east coast. If you're on the east coast it just takes too long to turn games around.

I used Gameznflix for awhile when I lived in VA, and it was decent for the price. I had a few shipping issues with them, but Frank uses them and has had good results.

Then I'd have to say you don't really understand the point of handhelds. They're not meant to provide the same experience as consoles. They are meant to provide entertainment on the go, and as such the content they provide is going to be (usually) quite different.

If you go into handheld gaming looking for the same kind of depth of gameplay as MGS or FFX, you're going to be disappointed. If you go into handheld gaming expecting short bursts of fun with occasional depth, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

It takes awhile to get into the whole scene. I was, myself, resistant at first, but once I 'got it' I really enjoyed what I got out of handhelds.

Given that my parents refused to buy me a SNES back in the day, I had to fall back on the original GB for gaming. Needless to say, handheld gaming has been at the center of my gaming universe and I couldn't live without it, because it's a completely different experience than the console games.
