You also said PS2 games, which does.

Also, I'm not disagreeing that handheld games are not in the same league as their console counterparts, because most of them are meant to play in short, small bursts of play, and most lack depth. However, I find that what I described above is precisely what I want when I play handheld games. A console game does not make a good handheld game, and vice versa. They are both completely different medias.

If I want something deeper, I'd actually rather play it on a system suited for it, like a console. Hence my personal general deception on the PSP and its many games that pretend they're on consoles (but with less buttons, therefore less functionality!). I have expressed this in the first post as an opener to justify why I went to look elsewhere, but it was not my intention to raise a futile DS vs PSP debate. I wanted to talk about the DS Lite and DS games. Let's do just that, ok?

Well, this argument was more about Console vs. Handheld and I happened to mention Sony products as examples (immediately followed by "read: console quality" therefore discarding any superiority issue). My mistake.

Anyway, you argue your point well and I will respect your opinion.
Let's just say that we have our own preferences and let's agree to disagree. (cliche )

So, I hope you enjoy your shiny new ds-lite as much as you say you will. Resume original topic.

So anywho, I got Phoenix Wright today. I hope it's as good as they say, or else I'm putting it back on ebay for profit.

Actually, I own a DS, GC, GBA (with 51 games), Xbox, Dreamcast, and so on. Only 3 out of my 18 consoles/handhelds I own are made by Sony. I have played many of what DS has to offer (except Phoenix Wright, since I cannot find it anywhere, but a friend of mine does own it) and came to the conclusion PSP IS more appealing to me. I've admitted several times, I was extremely skeptical of buying a PSP, from what I heard about it, and finally bought one because I just couldn't live without Daxter, MMPU, MMMHX, Me & My Katamari, and many more.

If this were a Wii and X360 argument, I'd choose X360 anyday.

I'm considering getting one. My friends back home just picked up an old DS cheap, and my friend on campus has one, and all of them are trying to get me to get one. I may end up doing so within a few paychecks, but the next one is totally dedicated to the purchase of a new flat panel/HD Video monitor

Damn, that Game and Watch one is sweet!

I picked a DS Lite up today, but I haven't played it yet. I'm charging it up, and I'll probably fire up some Mario or Brain Age. I just got Brain Age from GameFly, and I haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

Hey Aaron, is GameFly worth it? I mean, is it a good deal? I've been considering it for a while.

Given that I can play Final Fantasy games on my DS, Animal Crossing (a game with ENORMOUS replay, especially on the DS with wifi play), Metroid Hunters (console quality Metroid plus multiplayer), as well as classic Super Mario Bros., I have to wonder what the HELL you're talking about, Linkin.

Yeah, New Super Mario Bros is all sorts of awesome. It's the game they should've made in the last 10 years but never did. It's the kind of mario I've missed (aka, it has some collecting, but doesn't relvolve around it). IT'S FANTASTIC. PLAY IT IF YOU OWN A DS.

Brain Age is also surprisingly alot of fun, especially when there's more than 1 profile playing (which shouldn't be that hard to do, because your grandma could play this game), though I wouldn't buy a machine for it. :P

I also got Phoenix Wright. A bit too linear for my tastes, but interesting nonetheless.

This wasn't a DS bashing post, it was more of a handheld in general bash. Of course I can't deny that both PSP and DS have some super titles and I enjoy the opportunity to play those gems. I would still prefer the console counterparts.
