PS3 Preorders Thread

If you know of any stores that take PS3 preorders, post it here along with when you placed your pre-order (if any) and what # you are on the list.

Addittionally if you know of any other preorder details, such as "ABC Game Store will start taking preorders on July 2nd", we wanna know.

Some of the information I gathered in NY metro area is that most EB Games/GameStop stores will start taking preorders in August/Sept. A FYE in a mall here is taking preorders, but they already had about 100 deposits as of 2 weeks ago.

I never preorder anything aside from 2 occasions involving games.
1) I never have the money to preorder
2) If I were to have the money when I preorder, I'd blow it by time it comes out and I'll end up not being able to afford it, so I'd rather pay for it all at once when I get it
3) I have no problems with waiting a while after launch to get what others preorder. I'm not loaded so having it on the first day isn't extremely important to me

You need to change that last option. Most people who buy a PS3 in the store will pay more than a grand on launch day. Tax alone on a $600 system will be upwards of $60 depending on where you live, and most people will probably have to purchase bundle packages. People buying on eBay will be paying upwards of three grand, just like they did for the PS2.

Anyway, I'm not preordering, my PS3 will be purchased the day MGS4 comes out. My store is locally owned and has already filled the number of preorders they're taking.

Think im gonna pass, im trusting that the ps3 wont be worth the money they are wanting, at least at first. I could have easily waited for ps2 a while for that matter, although i didnt. I again appreciate the info, Ryan, you helped any thought of buying one at release go away, bud...

I'm not preordering. I will not pay higher than $200 for any of the remaining consoles, given that I've already purchased one at launch price. Therefore, I will get my ps3 in 2009-10.

diddo except i'm taking this concept to make myself money. Yes i will pre-order and yes i won't use it but rather put it on ebay to sell it to those that absolutly must have it and make myself some money.

I'm with Ryan i'll get my PS3 once MGS4 comes out. Just like XBox 360 i'll get mine once Halo 3 comes out.

I'd honestly be disgusted with that kind of attitude if the people you are going to be profiting from weren't such idiots.

Well, I am talking about price of console alone, before taxes, games and accessories. Most Xbox 360s were selling for $800 on eBay. I know there were some ridiculous $2000 sales, but those were limited to the first few days and it cooled off really fast. So I am expecting to see most PS3s go for $900 to $1300 range during the holiday sales season, again I'm talking system alone (60gig).

I'd love to pre-order but there is no way I could now get the cash in time. I will instead save for a February purchase and content myself with a couple of 360 games. I'll just have to sit and suffer as my neighbour sits playing his with a smug grin on his face.

The way things are looking I have my name on a pre-order list, #17 I think at my local shop where I pre-ordered my PSP. I'm not positive but I believe they make you put a $50 deposit down though. (I didn't cause I'm really tight with the GM there and since I come in and pre order all kinda games and if I pre order it I ALWAYS pay it off on time. He knows the deal.)

I'm one of those ppl who have to have it new ans shiny on launch, plus I've gotten every system I ever wanted on launch day since the original SNES so I figure if I have the cash why break the tradition...(no I'm not loaded but work damn hard and get what I want damn it, besides the SNES I was the only contributor toward all the other systems.)

Like farf I got my PS2 launch and was disappointed with the game line up for awhile. Madden oh Madden, maybe that's why I love you so dear. But until a few solid months into PS2 there were a few like 2 or 3 good games. But enough to entertain me damn it, and make a lot of ppl oh and ahh over my PS2 that was so impossible to get for awhile.

I know I'll have PS2 games and PSP games I'll still be buying and playing so Just one or 2 games for launch are gonna do me fine until the stellar games release. But if I'm strapped for cash I have no problem waiting until Jan. or Feb around tax time and my B-Day to get one cause I'll definitely have the cash around then, but either way it goes I'm buying a new tv around Dec. or Jan. anyways.
