So Dillon, are you getting one at launch now as we have to wait until March anyway or do you still doubt you can get a 60gb machine?

well, I think I will certainly go for the 60gig what ever happens. BUT they do say that with the lower spec machine, you will now get Wifi and the HD bits and bobs. so its looking like the only difference between the 2 consoles is the HDD, which is cool.

I think i will wait. March is a long way off, and I really hope I can get one, but I wont preorder. I am going to wait until I can walk in and buy one off the shelves. that might be April or even May, but by then the games will be fantastic in choice.

I hope a rich uncle decides to treat his favorite nephew... but I don’t think im anyone’s favorite, ...so I think im going to be waiting for a while!

Im moving too at the end of Nov, so depends where im living if its cheaper than where i am now too.

I would love one at launch, but being realistic, i don’t think its going to happen.

but like ive said.. thank God for the PSP, otherwise I would be saving up all my money just for a PS3. so at least I can wait for a bit.

I remember waiting for the PS2, I didn’t buy a Dreamy as a 'go between' so was desperate for something to play when the PS2 came out. so this time at least I can keep myself amused in some capacity.

I agree with dillon because even if you got the ps3 on launch what are going to do with the cool games are not coming for a while am getting mine after 9 months after launch its too much but i can live with it

When I bought the 360 at launch I also bought two games. Strangely, I still only own those two games due to financial constraints.

If I'm going to be in the same situation when I eventually scrape the cash for a PS3, I want to make sure those games are worth having.

i know with the PS2 there was two AAA titles imo.. Timesplitters and SSX. but the other games were good, but i wasnt playing them a few months down the line.
IF the PS3 had something like MGS4, GTA5, GT: HD and killzone or Unreal 2007... then it would be the greatest launch games ever.. but we know that even if they saying now that one or two of these games might be launch titles, we know they wont be.

i think its wise to wait for a few months at least!

So I took advantage of the GameStop pre-orders for launch release (we sent out our newsletter to everyone alerting about this last night).

My strategy was to hit up a small suburb store and it worked well. I got on the line only 20 minutes before store opening and secured myself the 9th system out of 15 that were availalable for launch.

I checked with 12 stores in the area, the number of launch units they are getting is 12, 14, 15, 16, 8, 16, 16 and five locations wouldn't disclose the number.

So its not as bad as we expected, but the numbers can obviously vary very much by area.

Yup, those numbers seem exactly right.

I arrived at a relatively "small suburb store" (although it's only a few minutes outside a pretty large city) about 45 minutes before they opened, and only two people were already there waiting. That EB was getting 16, as was another store I used to work at.

So I guess I'm #3 there, which is just fine by me.

Well I just got 100% confirmation of mine from my job yesterday. We'll have 10, err actually make that 9.

I was going to buy a PS3 and put it on e bay for Christmas, make a load of money off it hopefully, missed out last year on doing that with the X Box 360 as I didn't have the funds to do it.
This year I managed to get the money for the PS3 and pre ordered one from Game only to find out that they have been delayed (Surprise, surprise!) so I said sod it went out and spent the money on my X Box 360, first time have become a 2 console owner, (PS2, X Box360).
Now, my online friends are going to be sending me pics of thier lovely shiny new PS3 come November if they manage to obtain one, I shall be sobbing as I look at the pics no doubt and dreaming of the money I could have made.
Just got to wait now till March and hope and pray really hard that it is not delayed again, speaking of delays, I just found out today from the guy in Game that the footy game for the pc Football Manager 2007 was delayed, arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!! what is it with delays haha.
Looks like I shall console myself with the 360, never thought I would go to Microsoft, as my friend said "Welcome To The Dark Side" I was like well its always been a case of having the money for several different machines, guy I work with has, the X Box, PS2, Gamecube, Saturn, DS Light and PSP and buys the games specificall for that console/hand held. I couldnt afford all those different games plus talk about the time to play them all.

Haha it was thanks to PSXExtreme that I knew about the GameStop pre-orders in the first place! I found out the night before and went to my local EBGames at like 8am. Two other guys came at the same time as me, so I ended up 3rd out of the 8 consoles they're getting. So I was pretty glad I did what I did =), even though I had to drive up to school since I was missing my usual train.
