Foul? Gamestop.com discontinues World Series Baseball 2K3 for PS2

After doing a little research, it appears as though Gamestop.com has discontinued selling World Series Baseball 2K3 for the PS2 and suspicion is growing that Sega may be discontinuing the game altogether. Various message board reports have indicated that Gamestop retail stores are telling their customers that the game has been discontinued.

This news comes as uncertainty over Sega's future is looming larger than ever and both Microsoft and Electronic Arts are said to still be negotiations to buy Sega entirely.

If you see a copy of WSB 2K3, it might not be a bad idea to get it if the game is being discontinued this early... it's too bad, too, because it's a really solid baseball game.

I see that ebgames still has the game shipping. I also saw that Sega just announced a Shinobi sequel for PS2 so I'm not sure what's going on.

Didn't some other comapny just buy, or at least "merge" with Sega? Sammy or something?

Ebgames get many more shipments then gamestop, it's a bigger gaming retailer. Actually it's the largest out there.

EB is far from being the largest. GameStop is larger and wealthier. I guess people still don't know who owns GameStop stores...*sigh*. Get your facts straight.
