I'm sure you've all seen my make sarcastic replies about using cheat codes in here before, but I have a confession... a dirty little secret...
I used a cheat code in Mark of Kri tonight I was in the Challenge Arenas trying to unlock new outfits, and I just had to have them all, because secretly I like playing dress up, I probably have a Barbie doll collection somewhere that I'm not aware of.... *ahem* Anyway, Kri has to be the hardest F'ing game I've ever played, and as if the main campaign wasn't hard enough, these stupid battle arenas are freaking impossible. I got through like four of them before my suckage increased exponentially, and well, I just couldn't not suck any longer, so I used a cheat to turn the enemy AI off. Anyone else here like me? Someone who hates to use cheat codes but at one point became so frustrated with their undeniable suckage that they had to use one to achieve what they wanted? And no, I'm not talking to you cheaters who cheat all the cheating time. That's cheating. |

Ryan, how could you?!!! Mark of Kri is an ingenious game.I like cheating for games that I don't feel like doing all of the pain-in-the-ass work for to get the extras. Other than that, I do not cheat.

Generally speaking, the only cheats I use are the comedy ones like big head etc. There are occassions where I beat a game once and want to get rid of it but I also want to collect everything and see all the endings and that sort of thing so I'll use some of the infinite cheats to quickly race through, see everything then trade it. I do admit to cheating on Mashed. I had no interest in playing the one player but wanted all the multiplayer modes unlocked so I cheated with those. Sorry I think I have on occassion got to a part in a game that is so mind crunchingly difficult that the only way past is to cheat but I can't think of examples at the moment.

Ya I hate cheating too.
I bought a GameShark just so I could unlock the ending of FFX though. But I never used it again, and finally gave it to a friend. The last boss in FFX was impossable for me, I always died on his 2nd form. Besides that. I have used cheats to beat games I didn't like. But nowadays I don't even waste time on poor games. |

Cheating is stupid when you buy a game, then just start off doing cheats.
I bought a GameShark when I was finished playing Golden-Eye, but couldn't beat every level on 00Agent, and wanted to try out the secret last level. |

Also, save all your Aeons' overdrives for his second form, especially Anima's, as it will take off 99,999 of his 160,000HP. Bahamut will deal another 35,000, then just let the pagodas and your melee attacks take care of the rest. Additionally, if you have Tidus talk to Jecht using the trigger command, it will reduce his OD gauge to 0, preventing him from going into overdrive mode. This works only once, though, so save it for his second form. Do all those things, and if you can't beat Jecht, you suck. :P |

The pagodas HEAL Jecht. Thus, if he is undead, they HURT him. Equip Zombiestrike and he goes down easy. In fact, the UNDEAD concept is especially exploitable in FFX. The cloister of Zanarkand (outside), and the zombie Evrae in the Via Purifico are perfect examples of that. For example, the Zombie Evrae in the Via Purifico has 18,000 HP. Simply cast 2 elixers on him, and he's dead. Beats the hell out of fighting it for ten minutes via regular methods. It's weird, using curative magic to kill, but when you get used to it, it's freaking beautiful. |
