Well after going to this site I think I really like the design. It looks like it fits TONS better than previously thought. Check this out.

wow, I AM COMPLETELY SOLD.
Also, this picture of a mattress has sold me on it. This mattress will be the most comfortable ever. I mean, just look at it! ![]() That one, on the other hand, I know I couldn't sleep on it, ever. ![]() |

Have fun with your matresses But point taken. Still too early to decide whether it will be comfortable or not, but this gives me more confidence.

Yeah, it actually does make sense after viewing that; though we will still obviously have to wait until it actually comes out. Nevertheless; I'm more confident in the design than I was before...

I reserve judgement until I've held it in my hands but I can see what they're trying to say.

OK...I can see that boomerang design making a lil more sense now. I pulled out my DS 2 controller and did the shoulder buttons and analog thing and yeah it does seem like the PS3 controller would actually be more ergonomically comfortable. Even though it still looks like a boomerang I realise the concept a lil more, although I still won't be positive until I have it in my hands.
Then again if it's sooo great why hasn't Sony issued them to game designers yet, and instead tells them to buy Logitech DS 2? P.S. Oh yeah that mattress on top makes me sleepy looking at it.

~~~~~~~~ That design doesn't look to me like it sufficiently addresses the issues it claims to address. If they really want to allow the user to have a more natural hand position, the two "handles" of the controller would be at a 90 degree angle and sufficiently long to allow the hands to sit back from the joint. Also, there would be no "shoulder" buttons at all. All the trigger buttons would be on the bottom of the controller handles. Or, just have two separate sticks, possible tethered to avoid separation, in the style of nun-chucks ![]()
The more I think about it the less I like the idea of the controller shape.
I'm thinking that if you hold a banana with two hands you'll pretty much get the feel of the new controller. Not nice eh? I'd much rather have my hands more parallel to each other as they are now. It's never given me wrist strain so far.
