Default FoxNews/NYPost rag on 360...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,175860,00.html

I particularly loved this quote:

Quote:
All that for a machine that won't play the hot games this season, like "Star Wars: Battlefront II" and "50 Cent: Bulletproof."

You don't need HDTV..sure it will look better, but Xbox and PS2 games looks a hell of a lot betteron HD as well. EVERYTHING LOOKS BETTER IN HDTV.

And have they ever heard of BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY? I don't feel like checking the list, but I believe Battlefront II is on the BC list, and that all new Xbox game releases will be out BC. Even if the titles they list arn't playable on 360 on its launch, they will soon be, and I'm sure anyone upgrading to 360, will either keep their Xbox [if they didn't trade in already] or PS2 and still be able to get those games.

They complain about the prices, yet it is pretty much accepted that PS3 will release at least $399 as well.

The whole article is a poorly planned out piece of shit. I don't feel like going on anymore.

Actually not everything looks better in HD. Lots of games look terrible if they weren't designed with widescreen and/or progressive scan support. For example, Tiger Woods on the PS2, looks downright lousy on my HDTV. On a regular TV you don't see the flaws as easily and it looks cleaner.

Many of the reviews I have read are saying that if you don't have an HDTV you're not going to see a huge leap in visuals, and I believe that to be true. Project Gotham looks sweet in HD, but watching a lower res video review of it (which is closer to what it will look like on a standard TV) it didn't look tons different than an Xbox game.

Oh, and that's a NY Post article, so you can pretty much kiss any credibility you thought it might have goodbye. Posting that crap is borderline flamebait Lefty. Remember, this is a multi-console forum now.

Anything the NY Posts prints is incorrect?

I take it, then, that I could dismiss anything printed by the New York Times simply for it being printed?

Well then, now I do need to upgrade myself to a smallish HD-ready LCD TV that I can use as a computer monitor/tv.

You do know that I will be getting a 360, and just posted that to mock the article, right?

When I said "I particularly loved this quote...", I meant it to be sarcastic. Sorry if it came across wrong.

I read it as sarcasm, nothing serious, myself, and im a true blue Sony person. I do know from the few people ive talked to in real life that its the ps3, not the 360, that they think will revolutionize video gaming in the near future...
