I solved my problem of having nothing to buy... should it be SSX or GITS? bugger it, buy The Warriors!



I cant believe I gave this game a 2nd thought its superb!

anyone else thinking of picking it up? I can heartily recommend it!

I grow weary of Rockstar and their 'defy common sense' ideology. They made this game for the violence, not for the artistic merits it may hold. Yes, I believe that about Rockstar.

I will not be buying any more Rockstar games, for similar reasons to why I will not be buying any more Ubi Soft or EA games- I'm tired of their bullshit. In Ubi Soft and EA's case, it's their sloppy QA; in Rockstar's case, it's their sloppy mentality when it comes to artistic merit.

I'll keep getting EA games for free, thanks to my girlfriend, but you'll be damned if you find me actually PAYING for one (actually, she may make me pay for BF2, but that would be the ONE EA game I'd pay for).

As for The Warriors, the problem I have is that Rockstar made it, and as Rockstar is a developer incapable of NOT incorporating needless violence and stupidity into their games simply as a marketing tool, I see no reason to indulge them and encourage them further.

That being said, Bunny, I hope you enjoy it, since you bought it. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean you can't

The last GTA game I bought was GTA III. Vice City was a rehash, and only got top honors from me and the PSXE staff *at the time* as one of the top games of the year because it was, literally, a slow year.

San Andreas was a shameful game, IMO.

Rockstar was edgy, cool even, when they released GTA III. After Max Payne, Vice City, and countless other games, their 'one trick pony' style wears thin.

Very thin.....

I know what you mean tho.. im more like that with EA, one of the reasons I didnt pick up SSX, but I had to buy Burnout Revenge... and im glad I did, tho the only thing for me that ruins it is the EA side of things.

Ryan, I haven't played the game or really read anything about it, but are they including violence that goes beyond that in the movie upon which it's based (which is awesome by the way)? If they're just following the story and feel of the movie I don't agree that it's just violence for the sake of being violent and edgy, they're just trying to remain true to the source, but again, I know very little about the actual content of the game.

Also, I disagree with your assesment that the last two GTA games had nothing in the way of artistic merit. Both featured pretty solid stories (I thought) and top notch voice acting. And there was a enough new stuff to do and explore in each to keep the games fun and from being boring rehashes. But whatever, to each there own.

As for R* I think they just choose to make games that lean toward that side of things to begin with, more than them only making those king of games. MidNight Club is the only one i see where there isn't any violence indicated just by the title of the game itself.

Yeah I loved my GTA 3 more than any other R* game out there. I played GTA Vice City for a while but never beat it or went back , even though I was very close to the end.( I didn't even buy it, still have my cousin's copy!) ANd I've played Andreas a few times but never really got into any of them like 3.

I played the 1st Max Payne (and still have it), never touched the 2nd. I did get MidNight Club and that's for my love of the auto's and I saw Club would become something special after playing and buying the 1st one. One game I did iss out on though was ManHunt whice I will be grabbin sometime soon maybe.

As for EA I haven't bought my very own copy since 2003 and just play all my friends copy. I never really got into BurnOut 3 as much as I wanted and by the time my online was back up Revenge was out, but I also passed it on for BurnOut Legends which so far I'm still playing the heck out of it. When the time is right I will get revenge but right now w/ Socom and soon Star Wars I won't have too much online time left.

So as for EA nope I won't be getting ne thing from them too soon (not even BF2 cause I'll be playing Socom, and from R* a fat YES YES YES on getting GTA:LCS though. It goes back to those glory days of 3 and it's on PSP whice is where I'm trying to shifht my main game buying focus too, with the exception a a few AAA titles for PS2 this year.

With BurnOut Legends , Socom Bravo Team, GTA:LCS, and now Xmen Legends 2 my christmas is packed to the brim w, portable godness. And after I tire of those I still have plenty of great PS2 games I still haven't touched sittin in wrap. ie...POP2, DBZ3, Def Jam NY, Devil May Cry 3 (still never finished it) Kingdom Hearts, to name a few.

Those conbined w/ all the other great games I'll be picking up this year I'll have plenty of gamin to keep me busy untill PS3 is released. As far as I know the only 2 games I have on my list to get for next year that are PS2 stop at Kingdom Hearts 2 and
Black.

Chiming in because I had a chance to play The Warriors, and I really, REALLY like this game. I usually don't go for games like GTA, with the gangster/crime action going on, but I love the movie and think the game ties in really well with it. Two player co-op is fun too.

anyway.. great game imo.

Gamer-x.. how far you in to it? even tho stealing car radios and mugging people could be seen as toss and unnecessary, its the the added element of unscrewing the screws to get the radio out or finding the vibration on the a:stick to hold some one while you mug em.. its fun, its all fun and pretty good.

I never ever buy games like this.. being a bit of a martial arts freak, I tend to buy beat em ups that have some sort of grounding in martial arts... but this game has such a good story to back it up, so worth buying imo.
