Default Some helpful info for Xbox users whose mics...

Just a bit of helpful info. for X-box Live fans who have a broken headset...

Those who have headsets that are broken, like mine, don't have to buy a new "Communicator" for $30, or a "Halo Version" for $50 (those were the retail prices last time I checked).

My friend had a cell phone "hands-free" headset and decided to try it on his X-box during Live, and it worked fine. I went to Staples and bought one for $10 and it works great and is even more comfortable than any headset from Microsoft I've bought.

Just some advice if anyone wants a new headset but is on a budget. (Note: The brand name headset I bought was from AT&T, but most headsets have a "standard jack", so if you buy one of those "works with almost any brand (except Nokia)" headsets, you should be fine.

Yeah, they work, but they sound like shit. It's hard to hear people when they use them. It's a good way to cut costs, but it's almost as annoying as using voice masking, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you need a headset NOW and only have a few bucks.

In the end, it's still smart to buy the standard communicator.

What kind did you buy? With mine, I hear the same, if not better with the cell phone headset.

I haven't used one myself, I only know what they sound like on the other end. A few people I know have used cell headsets when their communicators broke, and they all were hard as **** to hear.

You may be able to hear better yourself when using one, but people on the other end have a MUCH harder time hearing you, at least from my experience.
