8mb Ps3 Where Is It

I have had this discussion on gamespot and au.playstation.com forums before and i havent got an answer.

WHERE IS THE PS2 MEMORY CARD AND CONTROLLER PORT ON THE PS3. Its gotta be there somewhere, i hope. Ratchet and Clank 3 is good.

There aren't any at the moment. The controllers are wireless so the PS2 controllers won't work in the PS3 and there will no doubt be a slightly confusing way as to how you access the PS2 memory cards for playing those games on the PS2 but it doesn't appear that this will involve plugging them directly into the machine itself

My guess is that they are not going to use the 8mb memory cards anymore.... which the backward compatability will be awkward if they dont..... and the boomerang controller for the ps3 is just a concept it can still change to look more like the dual shock 2... they prob just made that concept because of that whole getting sued over that rumble technology thing.

I expect Sony put out their concept pics partly to get a response from the public as to the desireability of certain features, and should indeed listen, especially concerning the crap controller design. While i do think improvements could be made to the ps2 controller, keeping it pretty much the same certainly wouldnt bother me, i hate buying new controllers for any reason nowadays...
