this is probably a stupid question but why do the Japanese people get the PSP a year before Australia. Australia is i bit stupid when it comes technology. P.S We dont come to school in the poch of a Kangaroo.

The Japanese made it, so they get to have it first. It takes longer to get to other countries due to marketing, patents, conversion of parts for each country [America and UK uses different outlets I believe], and other things.

I don't get why Australia is so far behind the rest of the world but if it's any consolation, we in the UK have to wait ages too.

Incidentally, are you running PAL?
