yeah, I think the only reason the UK isnt getting its PSP til Sept 1st is only because of GT4... fair enough, but I know that even if I buy my PSP on Sept 1st .. it wont be from the UK, thats for sure!

I was actually really happy with the PS2 GitS, which isnt based in the movie btw, its based on the first of two anime series. I was thinking it was going to suck, but i wanted to get it because im obsessed with the GitS series, and I was suprised that it was done decently well in my opinion. The PS1 game (which I still play occasionally because its fun too) was based on the first manga. So far, they havent done anything based on the movies, but it would be cool if they did.(They're all sort of their own universe based on eachother)
But I agree, the movies were great.

Oh, and I really wish they'd do a Frequency or Amplitude style game for PSP. that would rule ass. Those and Rez (Res?)

If they were to make an Akira game, they'd better leave in the Tetsuo acid trip dream segment

too right! the game would have to be totally in tune with the film... I watched it the other night, every time I watch it, I think to myself that there is no way you could remake the film in Hollywood with actors, the film is the unfilmable imo.

so really the only thing you could do is a game.

tho im sure there was an Akira game, but for an old system.. not sure tho... may look for it in a bit

EDIT: yep... it was made for the NES, no idea what it was like

I just tried it... It's all hiragana and katakana, and the first segment is a LOT of text, seems the openings based exactly on the movie. but you have to make decisions at this point, and because i dont have the time to translate all the things to romaji and then to english, i have no idea whats going on, and cant get out of the holding area to see what the real game is like

Anyways i realized we hijacked this topic.. Sorry jhonen
