May 18, 2005 - If you're frustrated looking at all these new PSP games debuting at E3 2005 and want something entirely new to play for yourself, get out your copy of WipEout Pure. The amazing PlayStation Portable racing game at last has its first set of downloadable content, available from the update mode inside the game or else downloadable from the web off of SCEA's WipEout Pure website. The downloadable content is called Gamma Pack 1, and includes the brand-new Staten Park track, as well as a new Tigron craft to race on it and the Piranha Team menu skin to lead you into the game. To download it, either boot up WipEout Pure and use the game's Downloadable Content feature from your game menu (you will need access to a HotSpot or wireless router to do this), or else log onto the official website and, using a USB cord, download the Gamma Pack straight onto your PSP. Gamers will have to register with YourPSP.com (another Sony site) to get the content, which clarifies now why keyboard commands were included in the WipEout Pure browser used by clever hackers to allow internet access with the PSP. If you are a fan of the series, get online and get the Gamma Pack 1 pack now. The site also teases music pack updates, and further Gamma Packs should follow in due time, so keep an eye out for more updates on this ever-changing racing game. |

I did this a while ago, but since I dont have a wireless network or broadband, I used the USB cable on dialup, and if you do it through USB, you have to leave your PSP connected when it starts and if you ever changed your PSP's removable drive's name, it wont work (it wont recognize a PSP as being connected). i had to copy all the data and format my memory stick, then put everything back on, then it worked fine.
Tigron is a cool ship, the new level is alright, and the new skin.. is... red. It doesnt keep my interest for long, but the promise of new things is cool. |
