Madden Next-Gen

Well, I didn't watch the NFL Draft this morning to catch EA's commercial for the next-gen Madden game, but EA thankfully posted it in high-res on their website:

All I can say is, HOLY CRAP!!

EA officials stated that the footage is all pre-rendered, and that the game could look like that. However, they promised that the final version gameplay will look BETTER than that!

PS3 can't come soon enough...

I'm not impressed until i see actual gameplay footage.

Also i thought Madden '06 was the last year of the Madden name contract and John Madden wasn't resigning.

nah, those are just rumors - the whole Madden contract thing.

I thought the stuff looked great in still shots, and I was going crazy reading the morons at Gaming-Age ripping on them, but I too felt the commercial was pretty bad.

Granted, I watched it online, but the graphics were decen't, but the animation was crappy as hell. It was just regular Madden stuff with extra polys. I know it's a long ways off, and in no way does it mean the game will suck or anything, but I was a bit letdown after seeing the screens.

The commercial that aired during the draft looked pretty damn incredible. Almost made me consider buying a next-gen console....almost.
