rumors flying around that HDD is finally comin out here in US.

the price is gonna be $49.99!!!!!!!!!!! <= that would be just awesome, 'cause 50 is cheap! god&&&! i can't wait for this stuff.

*downloadable SOCOM maps - that's what i'm talkin about!*

If Sony was smart....well....very smart. They would see the fan base with SOCOM right now. I'm not sure how the "growth" per day is with new gamers getting online everyday. But, what I can see right now. Aug 28th had about 6000 gamers online, maybe less. But right now, 7 months later....50,000 +??? I'm sure that number is alot higher.

Now, Zipper making new maps, let's say a release date about Aug (1 year from launch) 20 new maps/guns, just about anything else....and the HDD is released.

Sony should get rolling on the way toward the HDD and the way the % of new SOCOM players enter online every week. I would love to see those figures....now, I just have to wait...

Sony announced a while back that the hard drive would be 40 gig, and they also announced at the-magicbox.com, that you would have the ability with certain games to download them onto the hard drive, and not need the disc to boot them, thats why they made the HDD so massive.

Downloading games into the HDD will not be a reality on the PS2, don't hold your breath, but downloading UPDATES and expansions for games such as Socom may happen.
