I'm new to PSP but like it so far. From what I hear you can do a lot with it. I am looking forward to being able to learn from everyone here the full benefits of PSP. That is of course once I solve my small problem of not being able to play new games. I also heard that by not updating your PSP is worth more. But I ask how do you play new games if you don't update?

the whole update thing digs more or less into the fact that 3rd party firmware can allow use of software and tools on the PSP that would otherwise be blocked from being used. Often called "home brew", can also in cases allow use of not so legal things. Sony has a strong war going against that, and by using 3rd party firmware, you potentially prevent your PSP from ever being able to use sony firmware again.

I leave it at that, I don't care to get into a indepth discussion on it.

Personally, I keep my PSP updated from Sony
