For my birthday, I bought myself a GameCube, simply because I wanted to play Twin Snakes again, but I figured it might be possible that in the year since I sold my last GC, the system might have been blessed with a few good titles here and there.

I'm obviously aware of RE4, but given that I'm not at all a survival horror fan, I'm actually going to pass on it. Other than that, and Echoes, I'm not really aware of what's come out on the platform over the past twelve months, and was wondering if any of you Ninty loyalists out there could perhaps steer me to relatively recently released games that might have escaped my attention.

Any help is appreciated

Ummm. Can't really think of any. I haven't gotten a new game in a year. I guess the peeps dig the new Metroid. So, yeah, one game. That sounds about right.

Metroid Prime 2 and Paper Mario. Those 2 are a must have for NGC. That's about all i bought for it.

I hate survival horror (especially Resident Evils), I even vowed, after buying RE:CV on the Dreamcast based on hype, never to buy a RE again. But I just did. I love Re4. It's a horror-shooter, more than a survivor-horror (at least in the traditional sense). Your survival has something to do in this one with how you strategize against the ennemy (much like Halos in higher difficulties) rather than avoiding which ennemies to spare ammo (much like any other RE).

It rules (though it is by no means perfect), I'd at least rent it to give it a try. I did, and I bought the game last week because it has *almost* nothing to do with the previous games of the series (gameplay wise).

You can't go wrong with a Metroid, but I don't have Echoes (I'm waiting for a price drop on that one).

Some people love Pikmin 2, but I rented it, and I hated it. I didn't see what the fuss was all about.

The only Resident Evil I've played other than RE1 for PS1 a long long time ago (played that for 5 minutes) is RECVX, which I also only played for 5 minutes. Definitely not a fan. Infact, I can honestly say I hate Resident Evil.

Anyways, I just wanted to express my anger towards MGS:TS. They added so much BS dialogue, and alot of cheap tactics (such as my roommates current 'blast Raven with stinger missles' strategy) and etc. And I don't like some of the changed voices.

My roommate, I swear to god, is an MGS retard. He's died maybe 50 times since starting the game, probably more, because he's so impatient, instead of getting any sort of thrill out of the game, he runs out and kills anything that moves, and usually dies trying. Or he doesn't attempt to use stealth at all, and gets caught, killed, or almost killed, and restarts. If he gets low on ammo, he restarts from a save.

Anyways, yeah, get Paper Mario. My friend just bought it, I haven't got to see it or play it yet, but he enjoys it and I've wanted to try it.

I liked the change in the dialogue because it made the game feel fresh- it gave me one more reason to watch the cutscenes. However, I will agree that changing the accents on some characters was just lazy and dumb, especially since Jennifer Hale voiced Naomi BOTH times

Personally I think Twin Snakes is an awesome game. Tell your friend, however, that if he's getting so low on ammo he feels he needs to start over, that stealth action is not for him.
