I want the first party exclusives. If anything makes me buy a psp soon, it will be the UMD movies. Depending on how many and which ones get released.
I can't imagine why anyone would buy yet ANOTHER gimmick from Nintendo. The DS has no support and is not going to be supported, simple as that. You might as well have flushed your money down the toilet.

I'm not a handheld fan, but if I were, there's no way I'd eschew the PSP in favor of the DS. If I'm going to buy a platform, I want games to play on it.

You're expecting something for the DS soon? Keep waiting, it will be awhile.

The DS has had far more vocal support from developpers in the land of the rising sun than the PSP. But vocal support != games, I think it's a bit early to call on which handheld has more support than the other.

But in terms of supporting its hardware features, Nintendo is making a great job at not using all of them, while Sony has them all used (except maybe gameshare?) for launch. So all of us who can think beyond Reggie's "THE DS IS INNOVATIVE! TEH DUAL SCREENZ! TEH TOUCH!" are actually wondering what's so innovative about them if Nintendo themselves can't show us what's so innovative about them. Bravo Nintendo.

They're innovative because you can touch your characters. I don't know about you, but guiding Mario up Cheese Mountain by gently stroking his rear end is incredibly gratifying.

I've always dreamed of touching Luigi's crotch.

I don't like handhelds at all, so if it makes up for anything, I don't hate any of you.

My opinion is quickly starting to change. I was watching some of the psp videos today and at launch there are already more games coming than are out for the DS. I must say, that it would be nice if the DS had some of the PSP games like the ones EA has made for it. I own Mario 64 and Warioware Touched and by looking at the release chart, that looks like thats all I will own for a few months. I may be trying to find a launch PSP next week.

I have one question, do you guys know what movies will be launching or coming out shortly after, and are there a good bit of companies that are planning on releasing UMD movies?

Not that I've spent a great deal of time looking, but I haven't heard too much said about the sound the PSP offers.

The whole UMD movie thing seems a little weird to me; isn't the screen a tad small to watch a movie on?

But then again, I'm not much for portable systems anyhow, so I'll just shut up now...

Without question watching a movie or playing a video game, for that matter, on a handheld, means your in a situation where you either traveling, or sitting at home or somewhere else, being entertained by this neat little device. Well, if im at home, im either gaming on my pc or my ps2 or other console. I do love my GBA for the occasional tetris game either at home or on the road. Got a dvd player and a mp3 player for all the other entertainment, not to mention stereo......
