Is it just me or do the car models in GT4 look a tad poorer than on Prologue?

Have they cut back on the looks of the cars to enable them to produce much better backgrounds. I've noticed on replays that jagged edges are much more prevalent.

Still a great game though

I only say that because my version looks better, but then I havent seen the UK version running yet.

I'd have thought that the UK version wouldn't look worse than the Japanese version but who knows?

lol... I was thinking the opposite...


that they would smooth certain things over, but there’s only a couple of things I would change graphically in GT4's Japanese version.

I will get the UK version after ive done MGS3...

Watch a Grand Valley East replay and look for your car starting the second lap. The camera looks down the track to watch your car approach and it's incredibly blocky looking. I don't know if they were going for a blurred effect but in some replays it occasionally doesn't work.

I don't like the fact that each race has a varying A-Spec points award depending upon how your car compares to the opposition. I used my GT edition skyline in the beginners 4WD cup and was only awarded 1 point for each race.

I can see why you guys with the Japanese imports struggled with B-Spec. I barely managed to take 2nd place on my first go and that was more by luck than judgement. Interesting addition though; I'll probably play though all the championships in A-Spec then go through it again doing as many as possible using B-Spec.

just killed 'The End' in MGS3... what a fkg game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


anyway, i cant fail on B-spec now!! the trick is to use the fastest car possible, and just thrash everyone! lol. I realise that isnt exactly how they want us to play it, but it fkg works!

im concerned about the UK version tho.... still, youre enjoying it? or not?

I'm loving it but I have noticed the same problem with this one as in GT3. On 6 lap races I need to pit for new tires but they don't and so it's a little unfair. I came last on one race because of it.

The soundtrack has a few recognisable bands including Frans Ferdinand.

I'm liking the new pit stops. It help to really drag you into the game.

I can tell you why this is actually..

the controls are analog and the TCS works BUT the avarage player still pushes too hard i mean we usually go full throttle and full tilt steering where as the cpu uses much less, look in the manual about the 100% grip thing only so much of a tire can be used for one force at one time like it should be 50% accerlation and 50% turning but i myself tend to over turn meaning im turning the wheels farther than they'll grip creating heat and wear..

I get the fact that I don't drive as carefully as the AI cars but even when I drive much slower they still get to a point where they should be changed. The AI cars never seem to suffer from any sort of tyre wear on these races.

What you said is definitely a major contributor though

just tryin my best, but yeah i think the AI cars get it slightly easier... notice in replays even with full gauge display on their tires are nowhere to be seen.... teh sux =/
