PS3 Section Now Open

There's not much there yet, but it's exciting to finally have a section for it.

I guess the older you get, the faster time between consoles goes. It felt like forever going from the Super Nintendo to the Nintendo 64.

I can't believe it's almost here... it's seems like just a few months ago I was skippin work campin outside Walmart to my shiny new black PS2. Ahh good times. With the PSP here in a little over amonth and hopefully the PS3 by the end of the year it could be a season for gamers (and deep pockets) to remeber.

End of this year? I don't think PS3 will be until mid-'06, at least I hope so.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it at the end of this year in Japan. People haven't been secretive that they have been working on games for next-gen systems for quite a while. I guess we'll find out in a few months.

I don't want to wish away my summer just yet, it hasn't even arrived

. But I am still looking forward to the PS3 none the less.

I don't know. The unveiling of the PS3 will likely also shed light on more launch details. I think that a domestic (USA) release is highly unlikely before 3Q 2006... but I've been wrong before.

What interests me more-- for both the PS3 and the new XBox-- is whether either or both consoles will break the $300 ceiling that we've basically become accustomed to for well over a decade. I hope that things will stay status quo, and that the hardware cost shortfalls will be made up via increased software prices... but I can't rule out $350-$400 consoles for the next generation.

We will indeed see.

I'll be watching the US pricing closely because as a rule, we tend to be paying the same in GBP as you do in USD.
