Default We're looking for reviews and previews

PSX Extreme is getting busier, and we're looking to continue that growth. We're trying to increase our content, and that's where you come in. We need reviews, and hopefully, a couple of you guys can help us out. Here's the deal:

Any game that we haven't reviewed is fair game.

The review needs to be at least 500 words, but 750 would be better, and 1,000 would be ideal.

Intro, Gameplay, Graphics, Sound, Conclusion is the format we're looking for.

Include scores for Graphics, Gameplay, Sound, Control, Replay, and an overall rating. The overall rating does not have to be an average of the other scores.

If you're review is suitable, we'll publish it under your name as a PSX Extreme review, and it will stand as our review of the game, not a reader review.

Any game that we haven't reviewed will do, but if you need some ideas on games we need, here's a short list:

Jak 3
Sly Cooper 2
Ratchet and Clank 3
XenoSaga Episode II
Death By Degrees
Devil May Cry 3
Need For Speed Underground 2
NBA Live 2005
NHL 2005
ESPN NBA 2k5
ESPN NHL 2k5
The Punisher
Shadow of Rome
The Getaway 2
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
Project Snowblind

If you've gotten your hands on a demo of a game that hasn't come out yet, and would like to do a preview, a 300-500 word preview, in the format of our normal preview, that would be great as well.

We will be adding one or two new staff members in the near future, and we figured the best place to start our search would be with people that know the site. If we use a review or preview, that's no guarantee that we'll be hiring you, but you can get some writing experience, and your name on some published reviews, and that's a start.

If you have any questions, you can post them here, or you can email me at psxextreme@gmail.com

Oh yeah, if you're not from the U.S., you can still submit to us - it's all good.

It's just a little review. Go for it!

Unhappy

I only own one game in that list (ESPN NHL 2k5) and it's for Xbarn.

(I'm aware that I can review other games though, but I haven't bought many ps2 games lately).

What are you looking for as far as deadlines, Aaron? I have Return to Arms and Shadow of Rome, both of which I'm working on now. Depending on your timeline, I can submit review drafts for one or both of those.

Also, would you want the God of War preview in Word format?

(It's been awhile since I worked here, and I'm not sure what-- if any-- changes that you might have implemented.)

Let me know, when you get a chance.

GGPete - Well, you're chipping in on your own, so I don't think it'd be too fair to give you a deadline. I'd say just focus on getting one done when you can, do a good job and move on to the next. Just keep me posted.

I'd prefer Word, but if you have to paste it in an email, that's fine too.

Mr. Sunburn - That one's a bit older, and it would be to fill out or coverage, so if you'd like to review the Xbox version, then that's fine with me. Just familiarize yourself with the differences (no custom soundtrack, PS2 version isn't progressive - think, and stuff like that). Read a few reviews to see if there's something glaring and cover it in your review if there is.

Normally we don't do that, but hey, it's a $20 game that's a few months old.

Also, if there's a game that we didn't review and you'd like to do it, then feel free. You're helping us out, so it's all good.

The draft for the God of War preview is on its way to you. I'm thinking that the Return to Arms draft will be coming within the next 10 days-- if that's early enough.

If Im ok to write one in a weeks time, I can do a Budokai 3 review, Ive been playing the game since christmas and Ive completed it so Im pretty sound when it comes to the knowledge of the game.
I do have a ton of coursework to do though, so if I can get it all done soon, I'll try do a 750 or so words on the review if that is ok with you Aaron?
