Um, I disagree. You can live with dead pixels if you want, but they aren't a fact of life. If I buy somethine with an lcd, I make sure all the pixels work, right out of the box. Why should someone have to live with a dead pixel when it's breand new? Especially on something like the DS, where the resolution is so low that one dead pixel is a huge blemish. Just cause Sony or Samsung, or whoever say that 2 pixels is an acceptable amount to not work, that's BS. You pay $3500 for an LCD and get it home with three stuck pixels and tell me you're ok with it.

better than dead Pixies under your screen.... its a bugger getting them out. its their curly boots that get stuck.

sorry...

I agree with AT, if you pay £3000 for a screen and its slightly fuk'd, you want your money back.

its hard to say, but if I had ordered a PSP from HK and it had a dead pixle I wouldnt worry about it, but if I had brought it form my local store then I would probably take it back.

That's bullshit. I don't care how many consoles. .6% is enough for Sony to try and fix it. Like he said everything has defects, but atleast other companies listen to the defects and try and fix the problem. My DS had 1 dead pixel and Nintendo Replaced it instantly because it's under warrenty.

The fact is that i don't really care that this happened because shit happens to every product, but for him to talk like we don't give a shit about the people this is happening to and putting 2 shits on them is just unbelievable.

i meant that it isn't their fault that the lcd's have dead pixels because its difficult to produce screens without getting dead pixels, hence the fact of life. lcds, no matter who make them, are prone to getting dead/stuck pixels. thats why lcd's suck. why on earth would i think it would be ok to have them?

Industry standard tolerance for deadpixels is somewhere in the 5 pixel range. Take a look at the bottom of this page:

http://www.overam.com/laptop-dead-pixels.htm

Now as these manufacturers refine their production those numbers are getting lower and lower but dead pixels are still considered a normal occurance in the LCD industry.

The guy is saying that the button placement was a design decision and not an accident. You can return your PSP a thousand times in a row but if the button behaves that way by design, it won't make a diffference.

To be honest, I've never noticed the difference between the square button and the others. I've probably put a good 40 hours on my PSP and it hasn't ever come up.

I knew the risks when I imported though, so I have to be able to live with the stuff. You can't see the pixel or the dust unless it's a black screen and you're really close.

Yes and the NGage was a horrible design, but unlike sony they listened to what people said and released a new version of the N-Gage which is much better in design. Also lets not forget the Bulky X-Box controller, another design that they put out, and unlike sony spitting in the face of the users, they recreate the Controller into a Controller S, which was much smaller and better. The fact is that he makes it as if there design was perfect.

WTF? Ease up, big boy. Un-knot those panties and listen to what's being said. The square button issue is not something that can be fixed. It's not a design flaw, it was purposely done this way because the contact pad for the square button was way too close to the LCD screen, so it had to be slighly moved. And of all 800k PSPs, only 5k of them have a little problem where the contact/response with the square button is very poor.

I mean ****, it's not Sony is saying "we're not going to replace your PSP". They're saying it's a design issue and the pacement was done on purpose. All of those 5k PSPs more than likely got replaced.

This is the kind of media bull Sony doesn't need. And it also doesn't need people quickly assuming shit and not looking at the facts.

And seriously, what did Kutaragi say to make him an "ass"? Absolutely nothing. All he did was point out the design is not a flaw and that's that. GameSpot, with their incredibly fantastic journalistic integrity, adds the "apologetic" bit and people throw a shit storm.

Just. Shut. Up.
