Default Sony Pocketstation

Anyone know of any places other than ebay that might still have old Pocketstations for PS1 for sale, new (doubtful) or used (but working)?
I'm trying to get ahold of one, I'm finding very few anywhere..
Or anyone here have an old one they want to sell?

Man, I forgot about those old things! I was going to get one, but they sucked so bad that even I don't have one. I don't know where the heck you'd find one other than Ebay. They were a pretty huge flop.

honestly, i only want it for the novelty, and a reason to play through FFVIII again.

to be general, its like a VMU for Dreamcast. It was only released in japan, but a few games that were released in america kept the features for pocketstation in, even though it never got here.

I checked both, out of stock, but I found something that makes me love Japan and their ideas for videogames even more. I had heard about this, but never saw it and forgot about it.

Now I just need a girlfriend and Rez. Maybe a camera.

I wonder if ANYONE actually used the peripheral in the manner in which it was originally intended?

I doubt it

I did... ner ner de ner nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

lol

there’s two fantastic games.. one is pocket Muu Muu.. loads and load son lil mini games to download and play on the go, with the PSX in game game.. it was a lil like sonic game world, lots to see and do.. weird as hell.

the other one that was brilliant was Street Fighter Alpha 3 (I think) ...the pocket station part was taken out of the US/UK versions, but with a lil help from Action Replay I cracked the game and was using the pocket station mode on it.

what you would do is download say RYU ... and you could train him up on your way to school or work in my case. there were mini games to train up on and you could train about 6 characters at one go, all having different levs and stuff. when you upload to the main game, you have all your stats there... fkg brilliant!

the other amazing game/peripheral was a 'teach yourself Japanese' via the Pocket station, apparently it was very very popular with the Japanese, but as it never came out here, we never got to know how great it was. I did try to buy one once, but they had totally sold out.

I think the only games to use it in this country was FFVII and Ridge racer 4.... FFVII was a very cool with raising chockobo and searching for mews, that was class.

BUT ridge racer was very VERY poor... I never really saw the point of it, you got a logo and um.. lap times, I think that was it.
