Default Me, MGS3, and one dark room for 13 hours:SPOILERS! DONT LOOK IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW

A great experience. Though I think im the only person who enjoyed MGS2 more, this is one of the greatest stories i have ever experienced. The fight against The Boss in that beautiful flower covered battlefield couldn't have been more fitting and perfect. THAT my friend, is the the greatest battle I have ever been through (Unless someday I get to fight Lan Di ). There was just soooo much meaning behind it. This game also clears alot of things up, but also leaves a lot of things unanswered. The time line at the end right before the credits ends at the birth of Solid and Liquid. Could the next game pick up somewhere around there? Who knows. But like I was saying, this game didn't do it for me as much as MGS2 did. SOL left a scar on my gaming life. It was a turning point in how games could make you feel like your living it. It's still hard to say why I didn't enjoy it as much as most of thw world did. I guess I'll post tommorow after I get some sleep from this game-a-thon.

What? I love all the MGS games, but MGS3 totally ass-rapes SOL in terms of awesome. If MGS4 doesn't conclude the current storyline [Snake tagging Metal Gear Ray after Liquid took over Ocelot's body], then it would have to be a remake of the original Metal Gear. I'd rather they finish the storyline first.

As for the time-line stopping at Snake and Liquid, that is because the game just tells you all the history before their birth, all the other Metal Gear games tells you everything after their birth.

Yeah, I am sure that MGS-4 will be a seqel following Sons of Liberty.
I'm also sure that the game will tie into Snake Eater, as well as through the story show/tell what happened earlier than in MGS (in Metal Gear. Although, they do provide the "previous mission data" in MGS and SOL.)

I think the game is really intresting in terms that it depicts how great heros turn into "traitors" and defect. Even though ***SPOILER***** The Boss did not really defect, thinking and living trhough those events like she had, Snake for sure was affected by it. He became the "greatest patriotic hero" but later became a traitor to the US and founded a new nation focused on soldiers called Outer Heaven"

Its cool how Big Boss follows the path laid out by The Boss' story.

(Awesome game by the way)

Well, in what ways do you think SE was better then SOL? I think SOL's story was great cause of the gameplay, the level design and the amazing story along with all those great twists. SE was pretty strait forward and the lever freedom that was said to be there I didn't see. I was in the jungle, but had a set path, WTF is that? I should have been able to roam around those paths into wilderness a bit more. Im not asking for like an all out 5 square mile jungle. Just something to make me feel like I was a bit more.... 'lost' I guess.

I liked Snake Eater quite a bit more. I enjoyed the story a lot more and I'm one of the few people I know that liked the story in SOL. The gameplay in the two is farily similar but I liked stuff like CQC and hunting for food which was added to SE. And while the Jungle setting was a bit straightforward, I prefer it to the industrial complex of MGS2. I thought it really improved the atmosphere of the game, especially in the sound department.
