Commentary on GT4...sounds kind of iffy.

Nevertheless, I can't wait to play this game. The more I read, the more I want in anticipation for my reserve copy to make its way to Software, Etc.. Hehe, I'm all giddy...which...sounds absolutely wrong when talking about a videogame.

I know what you mean.. but it just sounds like 'KA' in the way they narrate over that.

I would say that you have your Burnouts and your Undergrounds... this is the third type of must have racing, the sim!

imo this is certainly worth preordering, its very very good.

shame others dont have it yet here, I have many many questions that I know not the answer.

and when you watch the FMV at the start for the first time... wow! you know you have a good game in front of you. I know FMV doesnt maketh the game, but when it comes to GT, you know they have spent a lot of time on it, and its superb.

Gab.. you were asking about Endurance races... I found a 1000mile race (cool).. a cool 15 mil for winning which is enough to afford the new GT40. its about 35 laps, works out to just over 2 hours I think.

as for 'how real it looks'... I think it does looks better, but theres a new thing in the replay (well, lots of new things... but heres one)
I think its called 'DIVE' replay anyway, its your replay of your last race but in fancy shots and colour tones and spinning matrix style camera shots... i like it a lot!

theres also a commentary thing that you can switch on your replay too, but obviously I give that one a miss.

I get how the oil change effects the HP after it's been running but if an oil change boosts your HP after just buying the car then thats a glitch cheat as the HP as brand new should be the highest it can get surely?

Dillon, the flashy replays were in GT3 weren't they or am I just imagining things?

you could well be right, maybe theyre just more flashy replays for me to notice? they do seem a lil more up beat..

i did notice last night that a new cars BHP wonot go up that much between 3 and 20 where as a 2nd hand one will go up loads... some times.

I wonder how much is glitch and how much is on purpose, hopefully someone else will get this soon and confirm the shit ive been saying or straighten me out on a few things.

but the main thing is that I hav=e located the 'turn off auto save' button!!! took ages to find, but now I can buy n try in peace!

And the thing about the oil changes: who knows whether or not if it is a glitch, but if you purchase a car and give it an immediate Oil Change, you gain a few extra HP. Need trick. Glitch or not, you should make it a habit, and it doesn't seem to affect the game in any way (like, no negative effects, like using cheats in GTA).

Now, Dillon. Are you saying the trick works in GT4, or does it not work at all, or to a certain degree?

And the replays were in GT3. You had to Preview races to get them to work, and it takes a couple of "Click Preview and Quit Replay". You'll notice when it works because the first frame should be all trippy.

I like these replays, too...

I thought in GT3 you just selected one of the 2 or 3 styles of replay available on the options menu?

Dementare: Ditto on the oil question.

Anyone know if we'll get any extras as our release date is later. I'm fairly sure we got extra stuff in GT3.

Hey all, I know I'm new and this is my first post but oh well...

The oil BHP gain in not a glith or a cheat.

Here's why

Turn on GT3
highlight the oil change/car wash on the map and watch the scrolling text on the bottom..."Try our new power boost racing oil, new engines and old alike you'll get more power!"(or something to that affect)

Also the amount of power you gain is roughly based on what the car has under the hood stock

Your gto got 40 bhp because it starts with high power from a big engine... Realisticly you would gain 40BHP from a 63BHP engine if it ran a lil smoother/ had less power waste or loss ya know?

Think of the engine running cleaner with less friction to hold it back, ok :P

Anyhow take it easy guys, hope i helpped without being too big a jerk.

Can't wait for GT4 I'm swimming to Japan now. hah!

cool.... to be honest its been years since ive seen GT in English, the last was GT3, but that was when it first came out.
as I promptly swapped it for the japanese version as it had Lambos in it.

cool to know about the oil tho.

im going to start those 1,000mile races tonight, looking forward to it
